When you call them you probably get the busy signal right.

How did you manage to spend $700?

Complaining about ITS on your second post, naming the owner of the business, waiting 7 months?

    spam-competitor-something wierd about this

ITS has been around forever and few complaints around here

I've never get title for that company.

  10. I used them 3 or 4 times a few years ago when it was cheaper and easier. No issues. Recently I needed a title and contacted them and found that things have changed significantly, but I got a weird feeling, so I shopped around. And I've heard more than one complaint as of late about people still waiting for a title or any correspondence for that matter.

I ended up using Mainley Titles, which is on the web at getnewtitle.com (ask to speak to Fred, he was pretty on top of things). I made sure to speak to them about the vehicle first to make sure there wouldn't be any problems. I got my Tags and transferable registration a few weeks ago w/o any fuss.

Couple of things that struck me during the most recent process:
-ITS quoted about $600 and they said it was b/c it would be $395 for everything required by the state of Maine, and the rest was estimated sales tax.
-when i contacted Mainley Title, they said, "No, it's just $395, no sales tax for the vehicle in Maine". And that held true in the end. So I guess ITS was lying and keeping the $.
-both said that Maine is now the only state that they can go through for that old way of doing the Bill of Sale (only) to get registration. And their prices went up and it's much more stringent
-now photos of the vehicle in a finished, driving state are required (the vehicle needs to be relatively stock from what i understand). As well as a Safety Inspection from an ASE certified tech.
-lastly, according to Fred at Mainley Titles, state of Maine has stopped doing pre WWII vehicles, basically '40 is the last year they'll do (which is what I had).

Not sure if any of that helps, but basically I used ITS many times w/o issue, but wouldn't now (just because). I recently used Mainley Titles w/o issue.
