Hi! Im Tom and I live in Sweden. At the age of 57 I guess Im in the old fart category In 1967 I bought the August issue of Hot Rod Magazine and the same year I saw the first Hot Rod Show in Sweden. Actually it was around 12-15 Hot Rods and Custom cars that toured the country in the summertime. In my hometown the show was held in the used car area at the local Ford dealer. This summer I was 13 years old. At the age of 18 I bought a 1965 Pontiac Le Mans with a 326, thats just about what a working class boy could afford back then. I later traded that for a 1961 Dodge Lancer GT, slightly customized. In 1974 I bought my first Mustang, a 1966 2+2 and that became my first engine job, due to low oil pressuure. My paychecks turned into Holley, Edelbrock, Doug Thorley, Hays and other exotic names. By this time the import of used American cars increased and I went to Stockholm and traded the 2+2 in for a 1967 Mustang Coupe, rebuilt in Sweden using the engine and number of parts from a 67 Shelby GT-500. A really fast car at the time. Sadly I was forced off the road into a stone pillar on the end of a bridge. The car was totalled. I later became the president of Classic Mustang Club, Sweden and I have had a number of Mustangs over the years including a 65 Shelby GT-350 R replica, (very fun car) a 67 Shelby GT-500 and BOSS 302. In 76 I went to LA to watch the World Finals at Orange County and I also went to Irwindale Raceway. Next year I went back to California and bought a 1958 Oldsmobile Super 88 and drove it across the US and shipped it over to Sweden. In 77 I built my first chopper based on a Triumph Tiger. I went to the US in 1980 and bought a supercharger for my bigblock 67 Fastback at Blower Drive Service in California. Do they still exist? This is how I got started. I have had a number of cars and Harleys since then, but due to high age I have kept my machines for a longer period of time. In recent years I have had a 1929 2-door Ford and a 1950 Ford F-1. Today I am riding my 1950 no-nonsense long fork, hardtail, suicide shifted Harley Chopper and I am keeping my eyes open for somthing radical on four wheels. You only live once. Now I am going to spend time reading and watching pictures here at THE H.A.M.B. forums. I hope to make new friends and contacts. In Good Mood Tom Skaffaren

Ullared isn't far away I've only passed through a couple of times, we moved here in september last year. Good road out to Varberg for the Harley. I hear that they are closing down the car museum, too bad. But, to be honest I prefer to meet the cars on the road instead of tucked away indoors. Anything happening in the area?
