Newbie here! I belong to other forums (blackpowder is one) and I have some uncertainty about questions. I looked at the Archives and immediately ***umed that that was where I should ask technical questions......learned quickly that I wasn't qualified (?). Is the Message Board where I should ask technical questions? Just trying to get used to your method of operation. Thanks!

Archives are where you search for answers(because most have been rehashed many times) and message board is where you post.

    Welcome aboard.

    Yes.

Generally, you'd do a search, and if you don't find what your'e looking for, post a question on the main board.

yeah, the archives are locked for viewing only. another method is to private message(pm) a question directly to the person. he may get it faster than relying on him to stumble across your question on the main board. i use the pm function alot. if pm's counted towards post count, i'd easily be double where i'm at now.

I remember, vividly, a library trip when I was young. I started writing in a book and some mean old Nun rapped me on the head with a yard stick.

So think of the archives as a library, minus the yard stick swinging Nun.
