Hi folks. I'm signing up from Clovis, New Mexico, which is for all practical purposes, West Texas. It's easy to find, just follow your nose. It's a big ranching community and one of the largest contributors of bovine methane gas in the Southwest. Even the women look like cattle. But you know what? The people are so friendly, they act like they've known you their whole entire lives.
So if anyone's ever p***ing through, let me know and we'll have you over for a barbecue, beer, and to talk hotrods.

Anyway, I am an engineer for the phone company. I left Colorado to follow my career about 4 years ago, and looks like I'll stay here maybe another 15 years until we finally retire and move on down to Galveston.
Although hotrods are my first love, I also really love aviation. I had a dual career until I retired from the Air Force with 27 years a few years back. I was a jet engine mechanic for 22 years on A-7D and F-16C jets, and before that was in the Army. But the olive-drab folks don't fly jets, so I had to become a "Zoomie".
For now, the only aviation I can afford are RC aircraft. I am a very good builder and my office at work looks like the Smithsonian Air and Space museum. I'm only a novice RC pilot though, but I'm coming along...when the wind allows it.

I'm 50 this year. My son graduated from Wyotech and is promising to become a bigger hotrodder than me. Unlike me, he's into this high tech stuff. But I know my way around a Holley carburetor, so I guess we all have our talents.
I have two daughters, one grown and one a teenager. And my wonderful and supportive wife, who really gets into the hotrod scene.

So that's me. It's nice to meet you...

Okay, I'll post my other two cars.
I have a Firebird in black primer. It's been getting its body replaced for what seems like forever, ever since I discovered 400 pounds of bondo on it. It's got a whole new body, but the painter doubled his price, so I'm bringing it home unfinished. I'll work on it heavily this spring and drive the wheels off of it...as long as I get primer sealer on it to handle weather.

The other car I'll show you is my Corvette. Like the Firebird, it's also a 1968. Apparently, that was a very good year for musclecars. The Vette really is about done, except for minor things. One of these days, I am going to have to take it down to fibergl*** and take care of those stress cracks.

    So here's the guts.
1952 GMC has a 350 Chevy small block on the original SM-420 4-speed ******. It's been upgraded to a Dana 60 with 3.50 gears, modern power brakes, dual side exhaust, modern wheels and radial tires. It's a work in progress.

1968 Firebird has a 465 cubic inch built Pontiac engine. It's running 10:1 on pump **** and does fine, except for the hottest days. It's got a TH-400 ****** with a 3500 stall and ratchetting shifter. Very nice cruiser that can really drop the hammer when you punch it. It too is a work in progress.

1968 Corvette has a 427 race big block in it with solid roller cam and 12.2:1 compression. Everything in the heads is ceramic coated. ****** Supercomp sidepipe exhaust, Gymkhana suspension, and an M21 Muncie that REALLY wants to be replaced with an M22 rock crusher someday. Because that M21 would like to reside in the '52 GMC pickup!

So here's the pics. And thanks for the warm welcome. I'm gonna enjoy it here!
