Really wanna lower my 53, but right now i have the smallest tire rub on the driverside rear wheel. Im going to put on some narrower black walls on my ar's and put some white wall bias plys on my steelies.
Anyways long story short, dont wanna run bags on my 53. Dont wanna malest this car too much just cause it was my grandmas car. But it sits pretty high, roughly about 10" (stock height) or so off the ground, and i was thinking about lowering it 2 to 3 ". So what does your car sit at and what do ppl say? too high, too low?
    pics would be awesome.
    thanks

Suprisingly it still turns and rides great! The only thing slowing me down are the speed bumps and drive ways!

oh ok. yeah my 53 has a lot of clearance in the back. just kinda worried about a side rub but narrower tires should fix that.

I had new leaf springs made for the rear and cut the coils up front, still think I need about an inch or so lower in the rear to level it out...

I'm not saying this to stir things up, this is an honest question.

Looking through your pics, your car already has a Chevy V8 in it--- is it really so bad to put a little notch in the frame to get it to sit right?

No, but the rub is so minor that i just need to put some narrower tires on it and it will be gone.

I'm about as low as you can go without cutting anything up. The driveshaft will rub with a trunk full of stuff and folks in the back, but other than that its just blocks and naturally de-arched springs. If you want me to snap pics of anything for you, just ask, I'd be more then happy to take'em.

That would be awesome! The driveshaft will rub??
Never even heard of that happening before. I litterally cant have my car sitting too low cause i live down an old dirt, bumpy road. But man that would be awesome if i could see some pics!
    Thank you
