That was fun. I was $66,000. I think they have four auctions a year. Lets do it for all four auctions.

    Thanks

Well IF the PUNK is up again that would be supercool but I was referrign to picking a different car for next year. Hopefully there will be something that we all have an interest in that we could bid on.

    You're more clever than I :p

$65K was cheap for a piece of history. I was certain it would sail past $100K without breaking a sweat.

Thank you Denise! As a early-to-rise right coast fellow, I saw the Mustang go for $450K, doubled my bid-guess on the Punk and called it a night. B-J somehow missed the value of the car. Perhaps by a factor of 4X?

When did the car sell? Was it after Brett Micheals car? I DVR'd the show and the DVR shut down in the middle of the end.

  22. Damn, that's what I get for trying to be fancy, so close!!

  23. I am supprised it sold for that little... I thought the reason all these cars were going up in price was because of the baby boomers wanting cars from their childhood. Ed Roth was a pillar of the hot rod comunity so to speak... and to think that goofy divco sold for more... ohwell

It seems to me that the auctioneers don't know anything about a car unless it had a build sheet.

It might have brought more, earlier in the day but 65000 isnt pocket change either.

While I might agree on some of the other cars anyone that is going to bid on the Atomic Punk is going to have already looked at the car and talked to Aaron and the current owner and made the decision to bid or not to bid and at that point they would stick around till it went across the block. I could be wrong but a car like the Punk is not something a person buy as the spur of the moment afte just seeing it for a couple of minutes up on stage. Those that bid knew what they were bidding on and it wouldn't have mattered one way or the other if it went a couple of hours prior or the last one of the night. Of course this is just my opinion.;)

Well I'll have to go buy some cookies. :)

The guys talking about the cars when they are up on stage should really get their acts together. When the AT was up there the one guy said it would not be practical as a driver because with the top down you would get overheated fast.

Then he went on to say that he thought because of that it was a show car only.

Oh well as pointed out earlier, anyone wanting to bid on it would have been more informed than that to begin with.

You are probably rite, in this league of auction:eek:;) but typically a person may have already filled their stables with something else and/or spent too much earlier in the day, even tho they anticipated at least bidding on a certain car etc..

Oh yeah,Thanks for another interesting fun thread;)
