They maybe thinking the car is insured & not worrying about it.

 

It almost seems we need an AMBER alert, with missing cars pasted up like milk cartons.
This shit is getting scary.

 

yea some punks broke into my work van and grabbed the tools that make me money and it sure didn't feel good mentally or on the wallet. I would be crushed if they ever got my car so my heart goes out to you and I hope they find your car and the punks that stole it.

Great to here that the other guy got his car back at least. It gives me high hpoes that mine could come home as well. Maybe I under estimated derby PD. Although I haven' heard from them at all and I didn't catch the news last night. I suppose the lack of communication could be by design on the derby PD's part.

 

Jay, talked to a buddy of mine who's son is a derby PD detective, kinda told me the same thing about not talking about it, but hopefully you'll hear something today. You would think if they got the chevelle , they got the guys.

just got THE call from jay, they found his car but the cop said " brace yourseld" been stripped. Hes on his way to the police station to id the car, said as soon as he ses it he'll call me , if they release it to him and depending on the condition, told him we can use my trailer and get it home, good news bad news story.

Nationwide, car theft, "using a car without the owners consent" is an epidemic. The cops are too busy with other stuff......the insurance companies don't give a shit (they just pay what they have to, and then raise everyones rates). In fact if auto theft went down, there would be less need for insurance, and they would actually make less money!

If LOW LIFES didn't buy stolen stuff, thiefs wouldn't bother stealing shit.

all shinney stuff off motor, including intake, rattle canned the car blue, screwed up rear panel where lic. plate was, found dumped south of town, one guy locked up bringing in another guy

 

Well shiiiit, hopefully all of the parts can be recovered, maybe we can set up a rebuild party and find a way to lend a hand getting the car as back together as possible. Glad to hear that it's been found and some bad guys have been nabbed.

 

Damn travis, thats a great idea, hopefully they can recover some of the stuff, Jay had just dumped a ton of bucks into the 3-2 manifold and carbs.

 

Man I had my 4wheelers stole and we found out the kids who did it knew my son most thieves know you and this is sad .The insurance company I had for 18 years said the would not pay for the damages because my garage was not locked even though they cut the lock on a gate .

Jay is still at the police station, waiting to lay an eyeball on the second scumbag when they bring him in, then i'm taking my trailer over and haul her home for him.

Hoping the thieves get what they deserve instead of the usual slap on the wrist. Prosecutor will most likely say "it was just on old car". They don't have a clue!

 

Glad it was found and hope the rest of the parts turn up too. Wonder if Ryan would be open to a "thieves" thread where names and mug shots could be posted?

 

As sad as this situation is, there is something to be learned from these situations. Learning about how these things happen are the key to counter-measuring so that it won't be as tempting. If you choose a generic master lock combination lock to secure your belongings, go buy a ball-bearing lock today and replace it. Thieves can slide a pop can cutout behind the mechanism just like a credit-card to a house door and get past that kind of lock instantly. Keeping a look out too even so remote.

As Jack posted earlier they did find my car dumped south of Wichita. They took anything they thought they could sell quickly for drug money. The car is down but certainly not out. I will bring it back. They rattle canned a portion of the car blue trying to hide it. They have one kid in custody now and brought in another while I was there. He wouldn't even look at me. More to come later including pictures as soon as I can. I truly want to thank all of you for the well wishes and looking out for the car. Jack (yblock292) did an awesome job of keeping it going and keeping everyone updated. Now I just need to get it put back together.

 

Great news, Doesn't sound like they done to much mayhem and sounds like the brothers and sisters on the H.A.M.B. are being cool and the parts will be comin to ya. I am so happy for you bros. ~sololobo~

 

glad to hear the good news!! sorry they did damage but at least it will be comin home. offer to give the bastards that took it a ride home, I know some nice spots south of me in the gyp hills where their bodys will never be found! let me know if I can do anything to help.

 

Hope you can remove the spray paint and possibly save the black paint job. Will be interesting to see the car once you have it back...
