Okay, this newbie has learned how to navigate HAMB and searched the archives for threads on this and couldn't find anything (can't believe it hasn't been done before). Looking for some direction on hooking up a Chevy 350 engine with a Ford Toploader transmission. Does anyone have some idea for finding the right pilot bearing for the 350 that will match up with the Toploader shaft? I know, for all you purists out there, the questions becomes "Why would anyone want to do that???". Free is always good!:D

Lakewood makes a ****ter shield bellhousing for that application. Not cheap though.

Fancy bell is not needed. Ford and GM have, essentially, the same length input shaft length. The difference will be the diameter of the bearing retainer vs. the bell opening. Once the registration is fixed then make new bolt holes.
As to the pilot bearing, measure the input shaft on one of each and buy or make a new oil-lite bushing.

Lakewood housing uses a pilot bearing 15975 with serrated edge that fits in crank flange.
