The Frame is all Black now and all the little Suspensionparts are painted as well. Ready for final assembly.
I love my ignition Switch, it is an old Briggs & Stratton i bought 10 years ago out off an army partsstock in Switzerland.
I'll take all the old running gear, old steering column, and old cross member that the pedals mount too. That will be a nice riding truck.
Mine needs all kinds of body work. But whenever I stop somewhere people always stare at the motor not the PUTTY haha! They all hang out till I fire it up! Love that huge cam. I pick my kids up from school and all the mom's go crazy over it. Too funny! I put my 16 gal fuel cell under the bed floor, then I mounted two electric holley pumps. I use one pump as the main and then the second on a seperate relay for a backup just in case. I have them connected with an -8 v connection. I can throw the switch on the fly if I need to. One guy asked me at Home Depot about the gas mileage hahaha!
Here's a couple. I will try to get you a shot of the Fuel cell area, when I get a chance. Good luck with yours you have a great start!
Subscribing! I'm curious if anyone who has one of these trucks can tell me the width between the upper inner fenders? (front and back) wondering how much engine will fit before cutting into the inners. Anyway, great work!
I'm not sure of the measurement. I'll have to get it later if someone doesn't, I'm not at home. But my Big Block Ford fit with no problem. I did however remove my inner fender panels just to lighten the truck up a little. Along with a bunch of other unneeded parts. Hood, Bumbers, grill parts, fender wells, mirrors, headliner. You can see it on the previous page. They just seem faster the more parts you remove for some reason,
The Frame is on its own feet now, outside in the crazy Texas snow we had last week. I do alot of body work right now the Engine is at the machineshop there is not mutch time left, april is right around the corner.
Neat truck....so much more solid then my old '45....I've been stripping everything and welding in patch panels for 2 weeks now just so I can get the cab off without it falling into 30 different pieces.
I think they're pretty much wide enough for any motor you can find. Mine's got a 392 hemi in it and it almost looks like Henry designed it that way. It's tight but it fits.
I need to see more of the chop, still not sure about lowering the lid on mine or not, but the 3" looks good without looking squished.
Thats the only other pic i have right now. You might notice that i cut the whole back window out and put it back in without cuting 3" out of it.
Here is some more motivation for you. Mine has a 3" chop. 460, C6, 9" 3.50, smoothed box and runningboards. Hemirambler, Show 'em pics of your cool Hemi truck!
damn, your cruising on this project, the frame and suspension look really good, keep it up and Ill keep checking back!
Any updates?.....looking for inspiration to get mine going again....haha. Nice weather has stalled the project and kept me out of the garage.
