I have heard of moving the lower ball joint to the top of the lower control arm in order to lower the front end and still have suspension travel. I have a 1954 Ford Mainline and I lowered the spring perch in the control arm 2 inches. Love the looks but I have frame hitting issues. Just hoping to start a good descussion. I have read about different springs and Granada spindles, but I have a budget and want to use my witts not just a parts catalog I can post pics but all I did was weld two pieces of 1x1 square stock togther, drilled them and bolted them between the lower pearch and the control arm.
The Granada spindles involve machining the taper to accept the lower ball joint. They worked great on my 54 Costomline. The best part was that I bought the whole Granada for $300, saving money over a kit already, got everything I needed for the suspension and brakes, plus a running sbf, trans, and rearend, s****ped the body and got $120 of it back!
