Are there hotels near the Elks?

 

Yes.There is a hotel right down the road from the Elks.Also,there is a Dunkin Donuts across the street, hot dog stand,a quick Check,Chinese take out,pizzeria,etc.....

What do you guys think about the weekend before Memorial Day?.The hotel shouldn't be booked and no worry about traffic on the highways.

The only problem with the Elks lodge,they might ask for a donation to their charity.Which,I don't have a problem with.

The Kenilworth Inn or Elks Lodge parking lot.

I was kinda thinking the hotel might be better.Nicer grounds,a ballroom,etc....

seriously, the hotel sounds like a good plan. just need to iron out a discounted room rate and an entry cost for the event to cover the cost of bands etc...

 

Gang,here is some update info on the show.It is way too close for anything to happen for Memorial Day 2011.The hotel was kinda giving me the runaround for next year.

What I am going to do is,talk to them in December.I am going to have a show in '12.This way,I have a year to plan it and book the Kenilworth Inn exclusively.I did talk to Linda from Lead East a while back and she gave me some pointers.She was a HUGE help.

So,when I talk and book the Inn,I will keep all informed.Also,anyone willing to help and I know alot of you will,I will get a committee meeting formed.

Here is the latest.

Just emailed the hotel explaining I want to book the place for Memorial Day 2012.Waiting to hear from them.

Spoke to the Golden Gup of Lead East fame,he is excited as hell to do it.Have to talk to Wolfman Jerry and see if he feels the same way.

Will keep everyone up to date as progress is made.

To have a show that was like the Road Agent's shows again would be incredible....I am in and should have something to drive there this year....Nothing like getting over the divorce hump...haha

OK, today I did a MC run here. This seams like a good place to have your show if the Kenilworth Inn doesn't work out. I did ask 2 guys from the club about holding a bike / car show there and they are willing to talk to you about. might not be what you want but it maybe something there for you to work with. send them an e-mail or call them

Update,I am attending the Union Elks car show today.I am going to talk to the dude in charge of renting the hall.I am going to try this for the weekend before Memorial Day of '12.Hope I can pull it off in 6 months.I will keep you posted after today.
