Tiki that T is just too FkN cool. If you want to trade.... or just let me borrow it for a day, so I can copy it @ my other cousin's print shop.

Just found out that there might be a stash of old photos in my Aunt's ba*****t. Gonna go digging this weekend, if I can.

Tiki, it seems that you, F6Garagerat & I are thinking alike. We have a plan for Autorama & hopefully we can pull it off! If you have any old pics that you would share, pls let me know.

3. Let me say first that I never lived in Detroit.

But....my good friend Jack Carroll did and was active in the car scene while he worked for companies like AMC designing interiors. I sent his the URL for this thread and he scanned some old photos he had from back in the late 50's to early 60's.

So here is the first of a few posts of Jack's pictures and the text that came with them:

"
Dennis here's the photos of my buddy putting the taillights in my '51 Plymouth in his dads gas station that was located about
2-3 blocks from the Hollywood Hot Rod Shop.

Sorry about the poor quality of the shots.

It took me a while to find them."

9. That's all of the photos Jack sent me. And BTW, I forgot to mention that Jack did design drawings for the Alexander Brothers in exchange for work on his '51 Plymouth.

If you have any comments for Jack, I'll be glad to p*** them along.

Thanks Dennis! Those are the beans!

12. Hey guys, this was an interesting thread and so was the Gratiot one. Visited Gratiot a few times as a kid in 60's.
I am going to Autorama, would like to pick up some ch***is parts for my 37 project while in US. Prices are crazy in Ontario.
Are there any stocking rod shops left in Detroit or vicinity? I can't find any on Google.
Thanks Doug

13. I'll post this in a fresh thread - but just in case anyone finds this thread and knows Jack, here's a related (year wise) item. For those of you who bought this year's HAMB calender, find it and look at the back cover!

Here's the e-mail from Jack to Jim DiGiorgio who sent him a scan of the calender:

Jim I got looking at the back cover of the HAMB calendar and the signature looked like mine and It is .I pinstriped the car in 1959 or 1960 for a guy in Lapear,Mi Al Caulkins. He in turn make the roll pans for my "51 Plymouth.

Dennis,

This world keeps getting smaller.... My dad bought that '51 Plymouth (looks like the same one) back in the 60's (he only had it a few years). Could you please ask your buddy Jack (or shoot me his info so I can) if he's got any more pictures? When my dad got it it had some radical deep headlight dishes, same tail lights and light green in color. He's been trying to find pictures of it for years!!! He only has 1 or 2 small pictures of it and a small article from one of the little books stating it was an A bros custom. About 10 years ago I asked the A bros at paso if they had any more info or pics and they couldn't remember it, but where happy to see the pics I had. These pics alone will really make the old man's day. Thank you and Jack for posting these!!!:D

Well, F6garageRat & I went over to meet Gator the other day. As soon as I walked into his place, I remembered his mug from the old store! What a cool guy he is! We got to share a lot of old stories over an evening. We had a blast yakkin with him all night last friday.

Thankfuly, he kept a bunch of old pics of the Hollywood Speed Shop guys that we get to scan over the next couple of weeks.

Here's one that my cousin sent me from his Dad's collection. Gator doesn't even have it in his collection (yet). This is the oldest of the Hollywood stores. It was on Woodward & 7 Mile. I don't remember it, because I was just a lil shaver then.
