That's funny I was just ogling that car in HRD yesterday and wondering what had become of it...bang there it is! Cool car and I'm really glad you kept it like it was and got it back on the road.
@Kid Rocker - Cool Coupe ... even cooler story! ... but I'm not sure about the bobbed rear fenders and rolled pan ... why would anyone do that to a chopped & channeled '32 5wd? :
I'm curious about that swoopy original frame too, are you guys sure it's a 34? Looks like it's got pretty beefy rails....like maybe too thick top to bottom to be a 34, and too swoopy. Could it be an even later frame, like a hacked up 40's frame?
Definitely a '34 frame it has the boss in the right side rail for a right hand drive push/pull steering box. The ch***is appears more swoopy as it is channelled more at the front.
I can't believe how I just got that magazine and that car blew my mind, and wouldn't you know it, its on the H.A.M.B. Gotta love this site! Great find, I hope to see more of this awesome car if you decide to build it like it was back in the day!
Man what a great story! I studied that car in the article admiring the details and the stance. Congratulations, great find. I really like the bobbed fenders too, good call on keeping them intact.
I got that magazine a couple days ago and KNEW I had seen that car in the picture!!!! I looked at those rear fenders in Jimmy's shop at least a dozen times but my brain didn't put the puzzle together. That RAD! Great piece of history put together!
REAL koooooll...History needs to survive, drive it, show it enjoy it, for all us gearheads that have made it this far.
Since I'm building a heavily channelled 5-window, I studied that picture in HRD. Awesome to find out that it is still around. You need to let the magazine know so they can do a follow-up.
Wonder how many historical cars got modified just because later trends replaced what was done "back in the day". Great to see your preserving the history. Frank
Maybe a little off Topic but the guy on the cover of this magazine is wearing Valley Customs coveralls. This magazine on my office wall. ( 02/67 )
Will you be at the GNRS Gathering of the Customs ? I have spoken with Gary Emory (Neils son) and he may be coming down from Oregon for the show this weekend. You can contact him through his son Rod . Their contact info is on the web page. http://www.valleycustomshop.com
Another Car Survives! Can't Put Into Words How Great It Is Another Car Hasn't Been Wasted. AWESOME! That Still Does Not Explain Enough.
