T5 tranny swap to a chevy 216 six , on a 1950 chevy coupe

    Hello everybody , I have a question if anyone out there has swapped a T5 tranny out of a mid 80's s-10 to a 1950 chevy coupe 216 engine, I need some help making shear that it can really be done.

  2. There are a couple threads on this if you do a search for things like "T5 to early Chevy" AND there is an adapter that is out on the market (think I read about it in Street Rodder recently).

    I swapped an '86 T5 and '98 Blazer rear axle into my 51 poncho - I have a 239, but its basically making (or buying) an adaptor to bolt it up to the bellhousing - some minor modifications - very do-able if you have a bit of mechanical ability. Like MAC said - lots of info here, just start searching and reading.
     
  4. Hot Rod Works makes the adaptor to allow the T5 5 speed to bolt up to the 216.

    A bellhousing from a 6 cyl 49- 54 truck will adapt trans to engine...

    is there a current site for buffalo enterprises? i didnt notice the part listed on the inliners link. or is there another company that makes an adapter.
