Plowing threw a old car sales lot today i found out in back behind some building, several old cars, something caught my eye,a 39 or 40 Merc front end. engine, fenders, bumper, and a must be stainless grill. The snow was pretty deep. i dug down as much as i could and from what i could see it looked real good. bars were stright. the steering coulem was there too. i dont have photos but if anyone is interesed i could go back and look after the snow is gone. i think it could be bought dam cheap. i know the guy wants to clear out the cars, and clean up the yard. a few old Ramblers, even a AMX and a 440 rambler. Located just north of Bay City Mi. Did i get anybodys attention or do we let it go to the press and let them ship it to China.? 8-Ball

Levis i am the guy that was looking for a gas tank for my 35pu. i see you sold that one you had for the ton an a half on e-bay. i took my tank off and gave it a good clean out. just had some rust laying in the bottom. that yard is just north of Bay City where i live. We had a ball going threw that stuff. Must have been a Rambler dealer at one time. Also got my eye on a porclin FORD sign laying back there. Going back in a couple weeks after some snow melts. 8-Ball

Glad you were able to clean that tank out OK.
Is that the one just off I-75 about 20 mile north of Bay City?

This is closer to 40 miles north, you cant see the cars because there behind some buildings. i will let you know where they are after i talk to the owner about what i would like to get from there. i guess that would be fair dont you think? We got his ok to go back there to see what he had. 8-Ball

This is probably a stretch, but I'd love to have another 39 or 40 Mercury 239 motor to drop in my car while I rebuild mine next year. I'm guessing a motor in the ground in the NW is probaby cracked and frozen, eh?

If anyone has or comes accross one of the Merc flatties that's in running order, please let me know.

    Thanks,

    jay
