Just got my 1929 Mississippi tag back from Vintage License Plate Restoration in Fort Worth,Tx. Jack Brewer really did a number on this one.It was bent up,missing most of the paint, and had a few rust holes in it.I am very pleased with the outcome, and he gives a discount to H.A.M.B. members.

Cost was $60 and 10 of that was for return freight.Jack says turnaround is usually about 3 weeks.Mine was about a month.

No didn't take a "before" pic.but it was pretty bad.It had a lot of little dents and waves, and about 3 or 4 little rust holes.I'd say about half of the paint was gone.He did a great job.

How does he patch the holes on something so thin? I would like to see a "how to" on plate restoration here on the HAMB. That would be interesting. Looks good!

nice job dude, that plate looked like a jiffy pop lid! the one ti i do know is the sign or stripers paint "one-shot" works great for the lettering and is durable also.

I just gave a friend of mine a 1926 Ohio plate for his T. I still have some I plan on restoring and hanging in my garage. Abone and kevin, Nice plates. One shot paint is the way to go as earlier said.

Wow! It looks brand new again! Can you see the patch work from the back side? Or does it look just as good all the way around?

What's a good reflective paint to use for the old license plates?

Keep in mind some states want to see the unrestored plate for approval. Make sure to check your local regulations BEFORE you spend money on a vintage plate and restoration or you could end up with an expensive wallhanger.
