The Holiday Inn next to the college was the closest to the fairgrounds, but no really ideal for us hot rodders.

will update asap.

 

It's getting closer......

 

The weather should be perfect with the date pushed back a little. April 9th should be a tad warmer than last year. Come on out!

 

Well, it couldnt get much colder than last year!!! Ha.

True Dat!! That crappy weather came out of nowhere. Still had a great time. It'll be better this year, I hope

 

The weather has to be better this year and that will allow everybody to enjoy the fairgrounds... and the city too... Gainesville is nice.

Lots room to spread out, relax (or chillax), set up EZ up cities, park however you want...

Those of you with race cars can park your trailers in the huge spectator lot...

 

Ton's of room for everyone....... we got to figure out how to get all of the Mini-Bikes out this year

Can't wait. Been to them all. Weather has to be better, can't get much worse. Where's the party? Need a better place than last year when we all almost got towed. Still a great time!!

last year I tried to buy out the parking lot across from the bar. I wrote a check for every spot in the lot for the night. The business that had the lease on the lot from the city agreed... the week before the show the city stepped in and said "no can do". Long story behind it all.. but suffice to say that there were some cross words exchanged with the City of Gainesville. I am going to be sure to submit spread sheets showing exactly how much revenue was NOT put into their coffers this year because of that move. That is one of the reasons that the hotels are not worked out yet. I'll be damned if I'm going to point people to a hotel within the city limits.

 

I know I always say this, but I am hoping this is the year I can finally bring my Bel Air. I've been taking it on successively longer and longer trips, and so far no breakdowns. So its looking like I may try and bring it.

But, even if it can't make it, I'll show up as a spectator.

 

Here is something from the website that probably goes unnoticed:

Spectator entrance opens at 9am - $10/person (12 and under, Police, Fire and Active Military are Free. College students $5 with ID)

So bring your ID's and your offspring and your kid's offspring!!!!!!

 

Save a few bucks and get in a bit easier by pre-registering. Looking for a big crowd this time around.

My wife and i plan on going to the show, we are in Lecanto Florida for the winter just a short drive for us..............PINCHER

if im back from CA ill be driving down from NC!

 

Oh would I love to come to this one. After the winter we're having here I want to get as far away from the snow belt as I can get.
