I found this old Hudson in resting peacefully, I've been trying to figure out what it is and if its worth trying to rescue. Its a nice solid old car. Thanks for any help you can provide.

No idea on worth, but I would get it if it is cheap. It would make a cool project.

Yeah its very cool - all four doors are already suicide from the factory. Its way out in the county and I can't seem to figure out who the land owners are that its on.

  5. It's a 1928 or 1929. The earlier cars had very different fenders, and in 1930 the front doors are hinged at the "A" piller. Note how the rear of the top insert matches your photos.

In my state, it is public info at the town hall listed in "plat maps". Don't know why they are named Plat instead of plot :)

Anyways, if your state is the same public info; and if you know which town the land is in, then try that town office if you can pick out the exact spot on their maps. They have records of who owns the land and what the land taxes are, etc.

We have those too and I actually work for the county here but out where its at is so rural and the boundry lines are so hard to figure out since nothing out there is in nice square sections. I've got it rounded down about 3 possiblies that are in that area so hopefully one of them can help me out. Then its how do i get to it?? There is no bridge over the creek its across so I might have to go through another land owners property to get to it from the other side. Why does it have to be so complicated.

The instrument panel indicates 1928. 1929 panel was similar but different for sure.

  10. Hey, it's already fallen apart, you can probably carry the body out one piece at a time and just winch the ch***is where it needs to go. If you post the serial number off the tag or PM it to me, I can look up the exact year for you.

That thought has crossed my mind :) I would have to make quite a few trips and its about 3/4 mile off the road. Next time I go visit it I will get the numbers for you. I tried to zoom in on the tag but it was too distorted to see it.

  12. It's interesting one tag says something in Canada 1926 1927 and the other tag says Detroit Michigan.

I was guessing 27-28, the differences are minor at that point. My dad has bits of a 28 at his house yet, and a clean 27. Worth saving for sure, lots of the mechanical parts are about impossible to find for restorers and guys trying to keep em running...

Oh wow very cool, I have enough projects as it is but that was my thought too if I could help someone out by keeping theirs going too that would be great. Definately going to figure out how to get the old Hudson rescued.
