The Takeout T and the Blue Haze are both right up my alley. Awesome cars.

I guess I am too much of an OF to appreciate the huge shiny wheels that look they belong on one of those boom-box mobiles....the T is cool but wish it had steel wheels...haven't really paid attention to the MBR since Ermie Immerso's Ardun deuce won back ages ago....(but thanks for posting, some of the contenders are at least better than the one that won a few years ago with matching luggage [!]...looked like it belonged on the French Riviera.)

That Nugget 33 is probably gonna win.
They will never give it too the Takeout T, even though it's the coolest and nicest looking of them all.

What do I know, I know I would rather have the Blue Haze roadster than any of the others.

I wonder if the economy downturn is the reason for the change in the contenders. What's the typical timespan from concept to completion?
Sure is a different field, for the good!
Guessing from past winners, one of the 33s is probably going to grab the prize, but that T sure appeals to my senses!
I won't go into what doesn't work for me on the others, anyone who has spent that much time and effort to put something together and enter doesn't need my crackpot remarks, but there are some obvious (to me) miscues.

Thought you said there was not a big name builder in the bunch?

I agree, but that red Dodge Brothers roadster looks like a Barris build from the '60's.

Nicely build car but when I see it I think how much better it would look with a unique motor and more traditional interior. Two small details that made a big difference for me.

    WOW!

What a difference from last year.

    Some are hideous.

    Some are bland and boring.

I'd vote for the Takeout, but I'd bet on the Nugget.

The "Takeout T" looks great.... but I doubt the powers that be will give it the AMBR.

Is there a HAMB award this year?

  22. It was posted in another thread that there will not be one this year.

Thanks for the photos. I will be out there tomorrow. I like the blue 29 the best so far. I thought there were only 10 contestants for the big one.

S.A.R. didn't build it- the owner/builder was there with it. It just have one of those "jazzy" names, so that's all I knew to call it.

"Take Out T" is obviously,so far,the most traditional car of the group. '29 is great but not getting into the colors, a little weak to make a strong visual statement. Not sure they will take a ride in the way back machine and actually give the award to a Car Club of Hot Rod guys who built the car themselves.

There HAS to be one! Even if just for the Honor of being picked by the HAMB members.
Tell you what......I'll post some contenders,if Ryan doesn't care, and let the members vote. I'll PM him and see what he thinks....
