What color should a Chevrolet 235 in a 1955 truck orininally be. I cant seem to find any info. Ive seen all gray, all gray with a black head, orange, red, blue. Any ideas? Thanks!
Should be a bluish gray, or a grayish blue. I think. I took out, dis***embled, and cleaned an original engine from a 57 truck, and I really could not determine exactly what color it was. But for sure it's all one color
Funny, a buddy is here and doing a 55 Cameo with a 265. He researched it and said the V-8 was grey(weird) and the sixes could be blue or even yellow depending on the truck model.
More than you ever wanted to know is here - http://www.1954advance-design.com/Web%20images/PPIP/PPIP-1912-1966-EngineColors.html
CleanRed, this web site has all the info you need. www.cs.siena.edu/~lederman/tr...VCCAcolor.html The link isn't working just go to www.cs.siena.edu and in the search box type in chevy engine colors and chose the cs.siena link. Hope it works because it has all the colors listed. Colors I had no idea Chevy used.
yeah i remember it same as squirrel...kinda like a blue grey like almost machine shop machine paint color.
This is a 3600 3/4 ton truck. I will check out the links. Thanks guys! According to the list on the links the motor will be either green or gray. Depends on if its a Thrift master, or a Load master. I am ***uming Load master since it had the heavy free float axle rear end.
