Says "Wayne" in the circle in the middle

    AND on the sidecover :)

    261 is a short non-jimmy motor :p

Tuck, there is a difference in the Wayne covers.

Looking at pics of Pat Ganahl's "pickle" Iacono Dragster, with the original 12 port in it as a reference.

Jimmy 12 port Wayne covers have a circle in the centre of the valve cover, with Wayne arranged twice, one north-south, the other east west, with a common "A", as in the side plate as pictured above.

The repops for a std head, has "wayne'' in a square, as does the cover for the 12 port for the Chev six, except the 12 port cover is 3/8" narrower than the Patrick's repop and doesn't fit.

    hope this helps.

Bluto, not trying to hijack this post, but is that an older style Mallory dual point distributor? Does it have vacuum advance or mechanical? And finally, is that a tach drive cable exiting on the left hand side? Sorry for all the questions but I've never seen a dizzy like that on a Chevy or GMC 6. Anyway, thanks for any answers!

I have spent my life looking for crap no one has ever seen
If you look in the Wayne catalog you will see the Stewart Warner Tach drive
They were also used to trim govenors in stationary engines
I found two of these in oil field junk 15 years ago
The Dist is a NOS Mallory I put a Petronix in it Replaced the Vertex mag it came with It's mechanical advance
Anytime you want to ask a question feel free

That is a neat looking distributor! The reason I ask is I think I may have a lead on one just like it for my 235. Do you remember what model Pertronix you installed? I checked out their catalog pdf but it looked like their units didn't go that far back (for the older style Mallory's) Thanks again... sweet looking motor.

The Dist that fits the drive is not the one that fits the Chevy or GMC but Mallory does make a tach drive Dist that all one piece
I made one fit my Packard.
    There is no Petronix kit
You have to make it fit :)
