These pictures are of my friend Frank Cali in the mid to late 60s he sold the car around 1970 and passed away in 2008 . He always said he knew where the car was but since his brother died it just wasn't the same. They were partners in the car. (Cali Bros). My brother and I are searching for the car so that we can possibly get it and restore it to keep the memory of Frank an John going. They were from Maspeth Queens NY. Any info would be appretiated. Thanks Pat
Here is my 59 its got a mild 283 with auto for now.It should make for a nice cruiser. Photo on the left is from the ad were I found it the others are in my shop. Scott
I remember when every scrapyard here had at least one Anglia & maybe a Thames. Happy days! This is my sons, He runs a 2.9 V6, Manual box and all independant suspension. The future holds a 283 for this car.
Work in progress, before primer / sealer. Hood top straight, grill shell straightened, fenders and inner fenders extended to meet the lower edge of the grill shell. Roof filled. The rear fenders were extended by a previous owner, here they are after they have been straightened and finished. The rear valence is longer now too (older work though). It has an O/T for the HAMB engine and trans, with an 8 inch hung from paralell leaves out back and a modified M II type front suspension. Different rear suspension is in the planning stages as the leaves are shot, and we are looking for a bit different handling in the rear (any significant application of power rolls the car to the right rear bumpstop, if it isn't in axle tramp ).
No chill pill necessary! I was just explaining that the statement was wrong to educate and be sure that someone didn't consider trying to use parts that won't work. And yes Bobcat's were Mercury branded Pinto's
My brother's [Jangleguy here on the HAMB] 59. Called it the BTU, British thermal unit. He's since sold it to a guy in Cal.
Two Anglia's for sale, the owner is 70plus years old and his family does not want him drag racing anymore. The chopped one is a street-rod that was intended to pull the drag car to the line. PM me or check the HAMB classifieds!
I talked to Bob yesterday, his son now has it and he says ,like he said last year they are gonna get it running and on the street this year we will see.
Heres a new one fresh out of the mold for a customer from P.A.. We'll trim it and put the floor in next. Scott www.scottrodscustom.com
My husband's current car - SBC, run's high 10's @ approx. 123 mph And then his current project to replace the black one: Sent from my iPhone using TJJ
We don't really have any old pictures of it, just ones of it torn down right now, being rebuilt. My hubby says he has an old article on it that tells a little bit about its past, he'll have to find it though and then I can scan it. But evidently it was built by Charlie Thompson, out of Sperry, OK, it was the Meeks Furniture car, I'm guessing it was run at the Tulsa drag strip, maybe late 60's & early 70's or even 80's? This is just speculation on my part though. Sent from my iPhone using TJJ
Man, that thing looks like it's going 180 sitting still. Although it's not the most traditional car, I hope you'll continue to post a few updates. Looks like it'll really scoot.
