So I changed the starter and have a new one installed and it is still doing the same clicking when I hit the start ****on. The starter gear seems to get stuck in the transmission gear. I can turn the block by using a breaker bar with a 5/8 socket!

It will turn the water pulley for a second and then get stuck. Then I will hand crank it with my breaker bar and it will do the same thing.

It gets stuck turning it over with a breaker bar? Your turning it at the crank pully right? Sounds like an internal engine problem to me. Possible hydro lock too.. Is there's a chance some water or other fluid got in the engine?

Remove the spark plugs and see if you can turn over by hand.

    one click = starter jammed
    many clicks = electrical

if it has jammed, always turn the motor backwards to release the pinion.

    What engine??

What engine and trans setup do you have? Some units are prone to getting the starter drive stuck if you don't have enough juice to the starter to turn it over properly.

Also it isn't an "Ignition problem" at this time but rather a starter or starter circuit problem.
    Is the battery fully charged?
Are the cables from the battery to the starter and ground in good shape and tight and free from corrosion?
Did it work previously or is this a new problem on a running vehicle?
