I just bought a set of Wheel Vintiques 15x7front and 15x8rear rims for my 64 F-100 and am second guessing the 7's I'm thinking I should have ordered the 6's instead. I want to give it a decent rubber rake, without the cartoonish look.. So I'm asking you guys what is the perfect tire combo for a truck like mine
Here are some pics as it sits now..( In the background) The rear will be coming down some more to give it a better overall stance, but really looking for the right size tires to really make it look good. .. Thanks in advance.. Ryan

Personally I wouldn't do anything until I lowered it down to where you want it. Then fine tune your stance with the rubber.

I used a 265/75-15 on my rear. I wanted to fill the wheel well up. I priced 285/70-15's but they were over two times more than mine. These are 30.7" tall and I have them on 15x8 cragar ss. I'm using 15x6 up front for now, they are just steel for factory rims with 215/75-15's. I like the stance.

Yhea I am a member over there aswell, they tend to lean more to the wheels I have on there, And not so much on the hot rod side of things. I have gotten a great amount of info over there don't get me wrong, just not on the style end of it that people have over here..

I run 15x7s with 225/60/15 up front and 15x8s with 275/60/15 out back.

  7. When I was a kid my perfect tire combo was 9.00X15 rear and 6.50 or 7.00x15 fronts. On cars from the mid '50s to the kid '60s.

If you are after radials the tire combo on the Pusher is 235-70.15 on the reear mounted on 8" rims and 215-70-15 on the front on 6.5 or 7" rims.

Here's a pretty crappy pic. The front springs are a little weak but the tire spap really exagerated the rake.

Okay the pick in my avatar is with 8's in the rear and 7's in the front. The tires are 235 70 15 and 195 65 15 respectively.

The truck has the rear end flipped on top of the springs. The front has all but two leaves taken out, the axle is resting against bump stops on the bottom of the frame. (that is how I got it, I plan on putting in some leaves then doing a drop axle.)

I sold these tires and chrome wheels a couple of weeks ago. I felt the tires up front were a tad to short.

The other pic with the black wheels, I just put these on on saturday. The fronts are 7 inch wide and are holding 215 75 15's, the rears are 8 inch wide and I used 235 75 15's. Both wheels are 4 inch backspacing.

On a separate note the wheels and tires I ordered from Coker and the wheels are "primed" the look awesome as is, kind of a semi gloss / satin finish. I ordered '42 caps for them as well

In closing, this is exactly what you asked for:D, Lol Hope it helps

Should have mentioned, after they were mounted, really for these size tires, front and rear, they have a little "balooning" to them. Going with 6's up front and 7's in the rear would certainly been okay. Probably would have made getting the rears up on the axle a little easier.

on my 68 f-100 i had 15x7 with 235/60 in front and 15x8 with 275/60 in the back, it was lowered 4" in the front and flipped in the rear, was damn near perfect tire size. if i wasnt lazy i would have some pics but i still havent scanned the old prints onto my computer

Malcolm, is that truck subframed, and if so, with what?

I just put Firestones 7.10x15's all around from Coker and bullet lugnuts, bullet center-caps, spider rings and beauty rings.

Yes, the previous owner (Sean Ornduff) installed a Mustang II front suspension with tubular control arms and coil-overs. The rear axle was 'flipped' and frame was C-notched.

I just got my STEELIES from Wheel Vintiques, with 48/9 Center caps.. Now I need to pick a color. the obvious choice is Red same as the truck, but I am kind thinking black would look killer... My brother said the off white thats on the bumpers on the rings and red in the center... Any opinions?

I'm thinking 215's on the front and 275 on the back also..... I like the way it fills out the wheel wells on some of the pics... I'll be right back gonna go rob a bank....

Black wheels are the ultimate choice in my opinion.

I ordered my wheels and tires from coker, in a steel primed state. They look like they are painted a satin black, I will leave mine for awhile then either paint them gloss black, or as mentioned above go with the ivory / almond color that my grill and dash is painted

Do you guys think the ivory cream color will look bad against the white wall?

I have 15x10's with 275/60/15's all the way around on my (stock height) 66 F100...I'd say go for at least the 275's in the rear - it's an easy fit, and they do fill up the wheel well pretty decently.
