Here's an F100 that appeared in the background of one of my shots a few weeks back. Someone asked to see more of it. It is based on an Ertl 1/18th diecast. Engine and trans from a Hotwheels '32 roadster. I have added plug leads fuel lines etc. The the 5 spokes are from a '40 coupe that I have modified and added tyres from the parts box to. I have converted the pickup to right hand drive ( that is what we have here in Australia ), which of course required modifying the dash accordingly. Geoff aka whodaky
Here's mine for the week. Revell 32 3 window. Chopped, with the Ardun from the 50 ford pickup. That's where the wheels came from too.
Here is another thirty year old survivor. A Revell parts pack supplied the body and roll bar. The ch***is rails are made of wood. Front axle is from AMT's Dragula kit. Rest of the parts are from the parts box. The motor has some inaccuracy...I tried to make the engine a 392 by putting the mag in back of the engine. The headers are wrong for a Chysler, but I wouldn't dare try to change anything now...too fragile. The cool thing is...There are similarities to the real AA/FA project we are working on now.
This one is loosely base on the real "Brustus" GTO of Lew Arrington. I used an AMT 1965 GTO kit, adding a chrome straight axle unit form AMT's Nomad. The engine is from a Johan funny car kit, they made some very nicely detailed engines during the late sixties.
AMT's 32 Ford, built pretty much right out of the box. I must have bought a dozen of these over the years.
I've never built a model before but someone asked if I could build one to be part of a trophy for a local carshow. We decided to go with a cartooney, Ed Roth, Rat Fink look. It's the body, front end, and chasis of an 1/18th T bucket and the rear wheels and engine are from the 1/8 scale 57 Chevy kit. It's just in mock up stage now, but I'll post completed pics later. Also when the trophy is complete I'll do a full post to promote the show etc. This is still being held secret from the show organizer so I have to be hush hush for now.
Great start to the Sunday Model Show, gang! Here's my contribution for this week. It's an older build(as most of mine are these days). Lots of custom bodywork here, the highlights being the hardtop chop, opening doors and reworked grill opening. There's a few things I'd change if I did it over though. The scartchbuilt Buick trim is too thick and I'd make the fogged paint a bit more subtle.
Revell/Model King kit. Added plug wires/looms and seat harness. Cut out the hood and swapped kit wheels for the correct Cragars. Tamiya rattle can paint and decals from SMBC.
Re-shaped doors, re-shaped hood/cowl line, front end molded grill surround, custom shaped skirts. All really nice touches on this one! Not too often do I see opening doors fit as good as yours do when they are closed.
Hello, I finished this up earlier this week. Its my first chop and channel, scratch built roof rack made from laminate from work, scratch built visor and a s**** piece of alum. for the grill. and a few other things here and there.
Cool stuff as always, guys! What would Sundays be without Sunday Models? I've got a project on the bench right now that I'll post in the next couple of weeks, the '29 A-V8 from Deuce of Spades, providing I don't screw things up too badly on the home stretch. I'd like to get it done in time for NNL West. Who's goin'?
Heres one I did years ago from inspiration of an add in streetrodder mad ,It was just a drawing of a tub from the rear
You guys are great ,Somedays I wish sunday was sunday all week ,Just to see this thread.... Heres the shot from the rear
This is the culmination of 3 years modelling off & on by myself & Jack Martin. The car ran at Bonneville 2008 but didn't live up to expectations. The model is in 1/16th and is entirely scratchbuilt
Here's a 37 Ford 1/2 ton pickup in progress in a shadow-box type display. Its a Revell/Monogram 1/25 kit. I was going for the parked-in-a-barn look and up in the hayloft is some folks doin' what comes naturally when in a hayloft . Lots of details yet to be added plus some weathering on the truck. Last week I posted the '57 chevy project car in a shop.
Hey I was planning on going to NNL West! I'll be showing my stuff with The B.A.S.H.R.s(Bay Area Scale Hot Rodders) Send me a PM and we can exchange info. For those of you not familiar with NNLs, the NNL is a great show to meet other glue sniffers, see their work and pick up some hard to find kits/parts. http://www.nnlwest.org/
Breathtaking, awesome, amazing................... and every other word like that!! Just WOW! But I think I see why it didnt live up to expectations............ You need to build it in 1:1, then take it to Bonneville. Hey Geoff, I seriously thought that was a real Effie when I saw that first pic!! DSoc.
Finished up this '39 Chevy humpback yesterday. Not HAMB friendly, but every once in awhile, ya need to go down a different path. Resin body from Time Machine Resin. Donor kit was the AMT Wagonrod, with a lot of mods.
