hey guys, im trying to get all my wiring stuff ordered for my 50 ford. Im just wondering if it would be better to buy a dash harness for the car from shoeboxford.com or from Mac's? Im saying this just because it basically plugs in. Or is it pretty easy to use the Rebel harness i am getting to wire the dash myself? I thought of using the Rebel harness for everything else and using the reproduction dash harness just to make it easy. Let me know what you think. thanks

I would guess that if you can wire the rest of the car without trouble then making your own wires under the dash will not be an issue. If you can read a wiring diagram it's just connect the dots.

You didn't say if your car is 6 or 12 volt - if 6 volt go with Mac's or Shoebox Ford have the original type wiring harness. Shoebox Ford has a great forum to get help and questions answered. If your car is 12 volt you can go with any after market kits. Welcome to the club.

Just finished mine - used a Hwy 15 basic kit - then bought some wire from Yesterdays that looks liek the old stuff - and some loom cover that looks like the old stuff - so where ever the wires show - like the engine wires,, they are the red/gold, green/yellow - etc. The instruments were really a piece of cake - even used a socket deal to up plug the whole thing for later when I paint. Battery in the truck - run a good heavey ground from the battery up to the inside cowl and use it to ground everything inside - works forever.
Have fun - but most importantly have patience!
