Quick update. Hunter made it through the night. They will be running tests today and hopefully know more about any long term problems.

Thanks for all the kind words, prayers and such. I will make sure Terry and his family see this. Keep them coming.

    Here's a pm I just recieved.

Roothawg, this is Don, Terry's cousin. I just got off the phone with him and he appreciates your offer and prayers but he says that he has everything taken care of for right now. He would like to request that if possible for you to pass along that he is donating blood in his grandson's name and would like to see if any one else would like to also. Grandson's name is Hunter Smith. All donations in his name would be greatly appreciated. Again, tell everyone thanks for all their comments and prayer. Don

Anyone giving blood in Hunter's name needs to pm me for the address. They need it at OBI to process correctly.

Talked to Terry last night. Still hit and miss. A little hope and then a bad report. Family seems to be holding up pretty well. Can't imagine what it must be like. Tery says to let everyone know how much he and the family appreciate all of the suport and offers. They are staying at the Ronald Mcdonald House so that is taken care of. Sorry the news isn't better but I will update the thread as I know more. Would like to add my personal thanks to everyone. This is a pretty good group of folks.
    Thanks
    George

Wish this was good news but I just got off the phone with Terry and Hunter Smith died this morning. Not much a person can say at a time like this. Sure can't understand it. The family donated Hunters organs so maybe another young life can be spared.

I know just knowing that a lot of his friends on here were pulling for young Hunter has meant a lot. So I will thank you for Terry and his family as they have a lot on their plate right now.

Also, I want to thank Ryan and the moderators for alowing posts like this. I know that isn't why the board exists but, over time, at shows and on line our circle of freinds expands and as posts like this show, despite the rough exterior a lot of us like to portray, we're quick to respond when one of us is hurting or in need.

Hat's off to all of you.

    George

I just don't understand the "purpose" of a 3 year old dying in the master plan...

    Prayers to the family.

I think the first couple of verses of John 14 apply here, I won't paraphrase, go look it up. I'm going to go home tonight and give my children an extra long hug.

  28. I cannot help but sit here at work and want to cry. I think of my son and can not imagine anything happening to him. Nothing matters, cars, bikes, houses, etc. compaired to family and now the loss of one. I cannot begin to express my sadness and prayers for the family. Im am sorry, truely I am.

I am sorry, I sat at my desk this morning and read that and the tears started welling up. I have seen many horrible things in my militray carrier, but nothing has moved me in a long time. When we went to donate for Hunter yesterday I had to call his room and I think I spoke with his mother, she was so broken up, it made the tears fall in front of God and everyone. I guess what I am saying is that God put us all here to help and we love our children very much, I have a three yr old son and this meant alot to try help out this child I didn't even know. God bless his family, God bless you folks for caring.
