How do you measure for the front spring? The speedway catalog says to measure centerline of perch bosses..........then deduct 4.5 inches..... My ? is my upper spring perch mount is further apart than the perch bosses.... They are connected to the wish bones and swan outward...The other thing is the upper perch mounts are for a 2 inch wide spring .. Hope this made some sense...... HELP

Ideally, the size of a production spring would have been considered when attatching the perches to the 'bones.

A few minutes with a grinder should narrow up the perches
    to accept a 1 3/4" spring.

Speedy bill sez, measure the distance between perch boss holes ,on the axle. Then deduct 4 1/2 " thats the length of mainleaf you need. When building the project poor boy, we used '35 an:Dd up ford bones, then used the early(up to '43) perches. We played with shackles and , still may need to have a custom main leaf made. sparky

The upper perches are part of the wishbone... They are factory for whatever front beam this thing is....
