193257 pretty much nailed it for me. I would add scotty Baccus hot wings at Reggies. Watching the cars on Congress as they cruise, and yes, I dig the burn outs. I guess that stems from my younger days. Mostly I remember the people I have met there. The whole group from Hutto, TX, along with Jeff Norwell, Tony Miller and a host of others. Good times, good times.

  4. There is a hot dog vendor on site with the most incrediable SAUERKRAUT ever! That is what I dream about...

Beatnik Shoe and Jack Rudy blocking out the sun because they are giants to my squeaky lil ***.

    Brian B***'s incrediable builds...

Once again, Mr. Rudy commenting on the way woman should be built and all the giants ***es walking the forground, and yet again, blocking out alll of the sun!

Night time on Congress... seeing lots of good friends from all over the states!

    ...and some more SAUERKRAUT!!!

    Hello Dennis, hello Ms. Bunny!

I sure miss this one and the fella that used to drive it! I would love to see it rolling into LSRU again.

Always think of the very first round up. The football stadium and about 100 or so cars. That was the coolest one yet. It grows every year and that is great but that very first one was simply the best.

South Congress Cafe and the creme brulee, burgers and beer at that place on 1rst Street where you can bring your dog and play washers by the creek, Texas Chili Parlor and pretty much everything on the menu at Magnolia Cafe. Does it sound like we like the food? The women in their finest and the dudes with their crew cuts and pomade. And of course the loud hot rods, Kool Kustoms, and works-in-progress (including mine). Everything about LSRU is good.

I think the coolest part is pulling up to a parking lot or stop light and having more old cars than new. Always makes me smile.

I've been to every LSR and have tons of great memories, but the first one is the most memorable for me. Me, my wife(girl friend at the time), my brother, and a good buddy Chandler caravanned in my 61 Impala and Chandler's 58 Delray. It was a beautiful day and was going to be a great 1.5-2 hour trip. About 30 minutes into the trip, smoke started pouring from under the hood of my Impala. We pulled over to find that the front seal in my old 283 gave out. Determined, I topped her off with oil and off we went. I said Lord, if we can just make it to the show, she can blow up on the way home for all I care. Quickly I found that if I kept her under 55, she stopped blowing oil, so that is what we did. Three and a half half hours later, we finally hit S. Congress and had a great time till the wee hours of the night. Got up the next morning, headed to the football field and basked in the utopic feel of the show. Once the show rapped up, we headed out to grab some grub and ease back over to S. Congress for some more fun. We made it about a block from the football field and my two speed powerglide gave up second gear. I couldn't do anything but laugh, because I got my wish. We made it to the show, so she went ahead and blew up on the way out. We decided to drop my car off at my wife's uncle's house where we were staying all the way on the north side. Being I had to keep the RPM's down to keep it from blowing oil everywhere, but only had first gear, it was a LONG 10-15mph trip down the feeder road to the north side. The best part was my Chandler following me in his 58 praying we did not the get rear ended for doing 15mph in Austin traffic! People were flying around us honking and giving us the finger. We finally dropped the car off, piled into Chandler's 58 and headed back to Congress to finish off a great weekend.

As far as cars...... there are many that come to mind when I think LSR, but the two that I sit and stare at year after year, are The Black Dahlia and Mike Young's 60 Impala.

DOC's generosity, from rescuing Ken and Vickie when their Caddy blew up to giving away kick *** door prizes at the meet and greet. I hear he has something special up his sleeve for this year.

Mine would have to be seeing The Waco Kid for the first time at the Fifth Roundup. The A.S.S Zephyr when it was OG and brown laidout in front of the speed shop; wish I had a picture of that.
