Do people rev their engines when they drive by your house?

No,but I like to do it randomly just set off all the car alarms in the vicinity. I'm just an infantile geek who should grow up. But when I stop and think about it I probably won't.

  3. LMAO at this thread. I live on one of the main roads heading into Flushing, and it's either my biker friends offering a twin-pipe "Howdy!" as they ride by,or,since Sabrina has sat in the driveway while being worked on,the local cruisers heading into town to the A&W cruise night offer their approval(I hope!) as they passed. Either way;it's good to have a little acknowledgment.

Yes,I'm guilty of doing it as well. I guess we never grow up.

  5. Mostly just the posers rev em when they pass my house, there are a few real rodders that drive past, once in a while they stop to see when we are going to hook 'em up or how my projects are comming. Most of them I don't know but they seem to know me.

Learned a long time ago if you got it there is no need to flaunt it.

I think it is cool,,,,,my son is 16 and we notice that his buddies all do it too,,,,just a guy thing.

I love It too! theres always someone giving a show on my street!

Ive gotta OT ricer that will make the hair stand up on your arms when its rev'd up! of course a 450whp vtec 4 cyl running 20psi of boost and hitting 9000 rpm doesnt exactly sound like your neighbors POS cavalier does it? I actually gotta a round of applause at the power tour for a third gear dead stop boosted smoke show with a "Ricer" as you all call it

Regardless they all sound good to me as long as theres some HP behind that Noise!

At home,Up here in the sticks,My buddies just come by and do the smokey burnout.

I have a jackass that lives down the street from me with a late 70s Camaro that used to always nail it right in front of my house being a smartass. I think sometimes people do it for self-gratification.

  17. It happens all the time. Most of the time, the truck is either in the garage or the door is open and I'm out doing yardwork.

I think it's funny as hell. Like I'm going to put down my rake, get in my car and go challenge them to a race.

Every day in the summer and on occasion in the winter. The front of my place looks like a burn out box at a race track about mid summer. My buddys like to try to wake me up on the way home from the bar.

Very quiet on my street. I do the same when I'm leaving with my truck. It's loud enough just starting it up. I try to be considerate to my neighbors. My street is down hill one time I left for a Hot Rod show at 0500 in the morning, and coasted down the street and then fired it up. I still set off some car alarms though. When I was in the service, we used to set up a water box in the baracks parking lot, we were a bunch of Jackasses.

The idiot kid up the street recently bought a POS late model Chevy 1/2T PU that he thinks is all that ... flat black paint, blingy dub "rimz", loud exhaust (which is really impressive with the V-6), air bags and skater decals here and there. He finds it necessary to make a production of dumping the bags as he drives by ..... dumbass.

  23. My collector car dealership specializes in Hot Rods, the scum bags that run the hack body shop down the road rev their beater trucks and MUDstangs engines and even have been low enough to do cheerios on my blacktop parking lot Sundays when I am closed.. Imagine that loud pipes and burnouts with a stock mustang while I have rods with Hemis and blown small blocks on display!.. ... Old age sucks... in my younger days I would have kicked their asses and made their old man hold my coat!!

Yeah they do, but being out in the sticks I have more people slowing down and blowing the horn at my neighbors dogs that are always in the road, in front of my house:mad:

Im sure people think they are mine and are blowing the horn wanting me to put them up:eek:
Luckily, I cant hear the cussing Im getting:eek:

...on a diffrent note, I sold a friend a v8 monza years ago and it was loud.
The first weekend out he had some girls loaded up and was heading to town in it and as he passed the little country store where me and some more friends were at,He was gonna slap it up in nutrual and rev it up but went too far hitting reverse instead, It tore up a bunch of stuff underneath and they coasted off the edge of the road, the girls had to catch a ride home:rolleyes:..:D

Not too many people rev-up around my house. The house I live in is set way back from the street, so it's not like they're going to wake me up in the middle of the night.

Yes...and a lot will honk their horns too. Can't see my house from the hiway, but I guess they know I'm there. 5 page thread, and I thought I was the only one this happened to.

Got a stop sign and a hill in front of the house. Rev them at stop sign then burn tire up the hill. Most are piles but some nice ones go by.
