FWIW, I sure wish people would be more accurate with the subject line. It seems like I'm always clicking on topics like " I need info" only to find that it's something that I know nothing about. If you want to know about the 460 Ford, put 460 Ford engine in the subject line. Want to talk about 1.4 eliptical springs, put it in the subject line. Want to compare pomade brands, put it in the subject line. Truth in packaging, consideration and time management is my concern. Especially time management, I seem to spend a lot of time here. There is an AMAZING amount of true talent here, and folks are kind enough to be willing to share info. The ones who do this stuff will probably continue to do it, but I thought it needed to be said. cp
I agree! There is a post on the board right now that reads: "What can you tell me about...." About what? About how to post a topic? About how to get people to read your post? I think people think they are interesting enough that when everyone sees their post... they're going to click on it... Well Gimpy, that ain't the case! Sam.
I understand what you're saying and I agree to an extant. Maybe we could follow the HAMB Cl***ified guide lines for subject lines. Anyways, it really doesn't bother me either way. With the new boards, the mouse hover brings up enough of the original post that I can make a judgment as to whether I want to read further.
I agree too. In the meantime, if you hover your mouse over any subject line, the first few lines of text will appear in a floating box. This can help you figure out if the thread is worth opening or not. Might not work with all browsers, but give it a shot. Sure saves me a lot of useless clicking, esp. with a nosy boss over my shoulder
I agree. Another way to tell the subject is simply placing the cursor over the post and the first few sentences will be shown before clicking on it. Saves alot of time on the BS posts,
