Hey guys, im still considering keeping the flathead in my 50 shoebox daily driver project. I am going to do a 5 spd swap, but cant find an adapter for a 1950 flatty. The ones i have found only go up to a 1948. Anyone know of any companies that sell them? thanks

Use the '48 adapter and a pickup bell ring to fit it to your '49 motor.

Cornhusker rod and customs kit. May cost more up front than the speedway way kit but when you have to pull the transmission in and out multiple times to modifiy the speedway bell housing you will be thankful you spent the extra money. I've got both did the cornhusker kit first on my 35 sedan but wanted to save a buck on my 50 truck. It would be money well spent.

Call Pat at Wilcap. I just had him make a one-off for my Cadillac flathead, and it's perfect! Price was good, too.

Hey guys, i took some measurments 2nite on my Tremec World Cl*** T-5 i have laying around. I also posted this on my other thread with the pics of my project cause there was some interest there too. Anyway, the ****** measures 25.5" from the mounting face(engine side) of the bell housing to the center of the shifter mount. From the back of the bell housing where the ****** bolts onto it, it measures 18.5 to the center of the shifter mount. THis is to compare it to the s10 Chevy style t5. I would absolutely like to stick with my Tremec over a stock t5, especially a chevy haha! jk....but if its not gonna fit, ill have to go with the s10 model. Hope this can help someone else out too!
