Anyone running a 6x2 with Holley 94's?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HotRod28AR, Mar 8, 2005.

  1. How would six Holley 94's compare to the other popular 2bbls out there and what is the cfm rating of the '94? Thanks,

I think I remember 94s flowing about 180-200 cfm a piece. Now to kinda hijack your post; I'm trying to set-up a 4x2 intake for 4 bolt carbs. What application of Rochester 2CGs had the smallest cfm? 215 Buicks? 283 Chev?

I do know that most guys who run 'em only run the center 2 or outside 4. I have heard they are around 180 CFM...

I know one guy with a 354 hemi that only runs the outside 4, so running all 6 would need a REAL screamer of a motor.

I know someone running 4 out of 6 hollys on his 283 chevy and they run far better than the 97's .They are a better carb but with more scope for ****ups. You need to talk to suedesled on this board,he runs northwest speed equipment and rebuilds hollys and jets them up right ..........Marq

Anyone know if I need special hose to connect the two sides (fuel resistant?) or don't I need to worry about it? The ones I have are like concrete...

Yeah, you should run fuel resistant hose...should be able to use gas filler hose...I'm running 6 97s' on a 390 Cadillac...I've just heard that the 97's are easier to set up than the 94's on a multi-carb set up...just my $.02....oh yeah...and I'm running all 6 carbs...

I am setting up a 6x2 with 94s for an Olds. Blocked off all the outside (4) power valves, and the center 2 have chokes. Going to run all 6 if at all possible, even though I know it's "way too much".

Anyone got a starting point for jets?

Call HAMBer Hotrodjosh at 97Heaven.He's usually in the shop after 3pm.630-665-CARB(2272).Multi-carb setups are his specialty. His setup was featured in a dyno test in HotRod mag a couple years ago.

I have an old McGirk 6X2 intake for a small block chevy. The 94s won't fit on this particular intake because the fuel bowls are bigger then the 97s. So now I have 6 usless 94s and will probably s**** the idea of ever using this intake because of the high cost of good 97s.

Are the six 94's for sale? I have a 6x2 Setup for an old Nailhead that I need some carbs for. It's gonna be a centerpiece for now until the motor is built.
I swear If I was rich, I would have one room of my house dedicated to crazy *** old school intakes and carb set-ups.

Why not run all six carbs? Just jet them waayyyyy down.

For what it's worth. Give Charlie Price a call at Vintage Speed or visit his website www.vintagespeed.com I've talked to him personally and the wealth of knowledge he seems to have regarding carb set-ups is mindblowing.
He commented that the Holley 94's are much less tempermental than the Stromberg 97's

CadillacKid, you HAVE to send me some pics of that hot caddy motor. I always see multi-carb SBC's and Nailheads, but I RARELY see Caddy's.

Also, How close are you to Minocqua?

THAT INTAKE IS THE ****T !!!!!!!!

I saw an 8 carb intake just like that on eBay about 2 weeks ago. Ever hear of an Octa G***er intake? I saw a pic of one in an old 1964 Almquist Catalog.

Send me some pics of the complete (on engine) setup. I'd imagine it's a nightmare tuning those.
