well after back surgery the doc said no more harley so i bailed on it an got this lookinfor inspiration on which way to go with it how bout yall give me some ideas..
Only thing I would do it make sure it could go 85mph down the freeway safely and then cruise the heck out of it at 75!!!
the 6 banger is tired and the glide wont shift out of 1 i got it up to 30 didnt want to push it to hard so im thinkin 350 n 350
Yes on the combo-but man that thing is sweet the way it looks now!! Gonna be hard as hell not to kustomize though-huh?!
Hang around here long enough, right-click-save-as is your friend...start making a folder of design influences on your desktop and you will be well on your way. Take your time-it looks great right now and will only get better. The HAMB is your friend.
Looks to me like you won't be missing that Harley too much . Nice looking car ! Great start for a cl***ic hot rod . Now go out and drive it for the next 500 miles and let us know what you think of your new car ! Retro Jim
BTDT with spine issues, even tried a sidecar, still hurt until I puked. The older cars/trucks are comfortable and chevy 6 has enough torque and aftermarket support to pull a OD ******. The later model 235's are the ones I prefer ('58-'62), with a 4 bbl or dual carbs and a 2004r you will be a happy boy. DO NOT p*** on power disc upgrades, you have same front end as '53-'62 'vette so parts available. Hydroboost units work well in frame mounted pedal ***emblys. I'm leaning towards lowrider theme <grin> Enjoy!!
Drive it 'till you know it. It'll tell you what it wants. Looks like a nice little car. is it solid, runs good etc?
Sorry to hear about your forced retirement on the Harley... Nice looking car you have.....fix it like you want too.... Then enjoy.... I myself would consider the 6 cylinder hopped up route...... Good luck !!
first thing to do is get a www.chevsofthe40s.com catalog I'd go 1050R4... you know, 350 + 700R4. no matter what I'd have to lose the glide... that would have to be quite the slug with that combo. if you want to drive in traffic with modern cars disc brakes are a good use of $$$$. regardless of what people seem to think around here, stock brakes are only safe if you don't have to use them in an emergency. being a 4 door, I'd leave the outside stock. just get some shiney hubcaps and go.
......I'am with Bob on this one too.....its your car...you'll get a lot of ideas here.....sure looks to be real solid,,,, keep us posted.....
thanks guys, Iappreciate the good words anhave been checkin on disc brakes it seems the more i putt it around town it runs a little better definetly gonna lower it. Il try when the weather clears to clean it an get some more pics.. hopefuly itll be highway ready soon so i can really cruise it thanks again guys
French the lights shave the handles, keep the trim, lose the bumper gaurds, shave the badges, french the grille, lower the *** end, and when you get through with all that... Chop the top and keep it a 4 dr.
