Bought me a 1962 Chrysler 300 this weekend. Going for a mild kustom look. Is there any Hambers oute there who got pics of nice 62 Chryslers.
Ive already bought me a set o Astro Supreme wheels from a friend so i can change the "nice" 80s BBS wheels
I'm working on one currently, planning a mild custom as well. Don't have any pictures of custom ones to share though, doesn't seem to be too many around, which is surprising since it's such a nice looking body style.
I hear you,was going for chrome reverse and firestone 6,70 but a friend of mine had a set of astro Supremes for a good price.
There's a mildly customized one on eBay right now, but I can't seem to boost the pictures off of eBay's site anymore. Pretty basic, lowered on Supremes, white with a brownish roof.
Got a stick wagon ht been workin on it for about 10 yrs love the car almost done just cant stay on it how do you put pics on here
white 62 300 Sport. That was my first car. I sure miss it. Sold it to a local guy that ran Chrysler Car Parts Obsolete. Not alot of examples out there that Ive seen, but the Newport in post #11 is a favorite of mine.
James D photoshops always look so good. Mine is currently a 4 door post like the one above, but I've got 2 door post doors and door jambs for it to make it the world's only '62 Chrysler 2 door post. I 'shopped it as a 2 door, I like the proportions, Chrysler should have made them that way. Mine is blue, I've got Cragar Street/Pro wheels (they look like Keystones, I painted the spokes) and 2 stripe whitewalls for it and a bucket seat interior from a '63 300. Once the 2 door conversion is done I want to paint the roof black and have a light blue/dark blue paint job similar to the photoshopped Impala below. The fade looks great but I don't know if I'm talented enough to pull off that paint job, the paint style on the Impala will be tough enough to do. I think they're great looking cars and this thread is getting me really excited to start working on it. I've been working on little stuff in the shop but the big work can't start until the snow melts.
Not exactly my kinda style, and neither 10.5, but this should get close I guess... Here's my '62 Chrysler NewYorker wagon...
BigBlockMopar, how much did you lower your wagon in the rear? And where do you find those dual white line tires?
1- Depending on the current state of your leafsprings, 3" is about the max you can lower it before the rearaxle-snubber with start to contact the body. I used a 3" lowering kit from Summit. These lowering blocks are raked slightly to keep the pinionangle correct on the axle. I believe they sell them as ment for a Dodge Pickup, but they'll fit earlier Chryslers too if you make the top-index pin diameter slightly smaller. 2- Had them custommade by DiamondBack Tires. http://www.dbtires.com
