Louvers are always the right answer! Maybe I'm just a bit biased....
However, if I was to lay them out and punch, I would do two rows per side of my 21/2" louvers on the top panels only,(Something like maybe 21 or 22 on the inside rows, and maybe 16 to 18 on the outside rows. Oh and taper the pattern just a bit.) and suggest that you shorten up the side "skirts" a bit to better balance the design

I say mark the middle of the hood and run a row back on each side of that line , looking good even as is....

I finished my hood Sunday thanks to two guys I meet here on the hamb, ''Scrap metal'' punched my louvers. He has a great louver press he built with a 4' throat. I would recommend him to anyone. And ''hoof22'' of Hot Rod Leather Works made the leather straps he was super easy to deal with.
The transition from the cowl (20's Checker) to the '32 shell is a little odd. But it seems to fit in with the rest of the ''oddness'' of my truck.

I would put a teardrop blister over the hole on the drivers side, riveted in with era rivets. I would run a line of 3" louvers straight down the center of the hood, I would louver a separate piece of steel that had the rivets on it, put a mild bead roll around the edge and use era rivets to attach the strip down the center. That looks good too, I'd still do the blister.

  11. Great looking truck. Louvers are perfect. Looks like it'd be a panic to drive.
