Here is a photo of my 1971 TR6, it was in fact originally exported to Los Angeles, but then bought back to GB, so it is pretty well rust free.

Story is the mark 1 Zephyr was designed by Macpherson, of Macpherson strut fame when he worked for Chevrolet in the 40's. It was destined to be a small Chevy called the Cadet. Chevrolet dropped the idea. Macpherson moved to Ford of England and took the design with him

Convoy Company (The trucking Co.) modified the Ford Trucks themselves, the only ones I've seen were operated by them.

Hey, man, THAT is a keen bit of info there. Amazing that things in NYC really were pretty similar to today! All that rush-rush, tight schedule, occasional WIND all probably helps to explain why a life was lost, on average, per floor! THANKS for the post, buddy, and I ain't getting rich, either!!!! LOL :D Jimi

No dice in the '50s? Baloney. In fact, my dad had a skull on the mirror of his '49 Chevy, too.

Was that Greg Sachs' dad? Just curious, as Greg got banged up bad in NASCAR.

Right, Bowtie, I think some called it a coupe-pickup. I know Studebaker did it too. Pretty cool! Seems as though very FEW of these survive!!!!

Seen a lot of snow lately - these folks look happier than anyone in my neck of the woods.

That Pontiac in the background, is a 1957 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible Fuel Injection. RARE-RARE-RARE.

  28. Greg Sacks, the NASCAR driver you refer to, is not Eddie Sachs son, Eddie Sachs Jr is. He is involved in racing today but not as a driver. He does PR for several companies involved in the sport. I talked with him last November at Stan Lobitz's party. Nice young man.

  30. This is a model "T", right? Looks like the top was chopped a little more in the front and the rear of the body was shortened, too. Just perfect!
