If a hot-rodder is still someone who takes a car and mods it to make it his own by using what he has on hand, can scrounge, make or has to buy then I am happy to be here. If it has to fit into someone else's idea of what a car should be then I think I may be in the wrong place.

    Here's what I got:
nearly 40 years building C4 transmissions for performance.
A bit of time being a mechanic, shop owner, vocational trainer.
I've got three Mavericks - one 72 and two 73s and a multiple crash recue 1966 Mustang coupe that has suffered damage on all but one corner. I am turning it into a "Muskrat". I am not putting a Chevy big block in it; the "Muskrat" is for "ratty old Mustang" but like the animal it will have an at***ude. I hope to learn what I can and help where I am able while I am here. I am 60 and disabled (rear ended at a stop light and busted up my back) and still trying to get my projects done. Its all done a few hours at a time.

    Thanks for listening,
    Paul

  2. Paul,
Your rides are a tad new for this forum and any mention of
rodents is will make no friends here. I like your at***ude though.

    Second Amendment,
(one of my favorites) If My 66 is out of place, I can go. I don't want to mess in anyone's sandbox. My car is going to be a modded out, good looking, street rod but it won't look much like a Mustang (unless you like the 63 prototype) when I am done.
351W, 365hp, 425 Ft.lbs. torque, 4 speed, lightened, hand crafted EVERYTHING and a body made for 130mph at 5500 rpm. In true hot rodding style 2000 pounds and enough power to make it exciting. Not a rat rod for sure! My kids used to call it "muskrat" so I plan on keeping the name.

If you guys are alright with my intent and the car isn't too new to belong then I will stay. If it is too new then I will sign out and go some place else. Its up to you, the members of the board - no hard feelings either way.

    Paul

    Welcome Paul, from Lynden, WA

Dang, they let me in with just a dream (56 F100) and a pile of old British sports cars.

Your dreams should be enough, besides I may need some C4 help...

Hang out man and enjoy the ride. Chances are you'll end up not only with your Mustang but craving some other pre 64 iron that really gets a ton of play on the main board. Then you'll be like a majority of the guys on here with older and newer goodies. so....

Welcome to the H.A.M.B. from Nor Cal and the Cam-Snappers Hot Rod Club!

Paul welcome. Yes, your cars are a tad new for the general populace and you'll get a ration if you start asking specifics about muscle cars. On the other hand, the folks here are great and the wealth of information is incredible. Hang around, it is a super way to get immersed in the car culture. You don't have to own a 'traditional hot rod' to appreciate them. Join the NW HAMB social group too. You'll find the social groups are way more accepting of later cars. It is a good place to call home.
