Last year I stayed there and had a blast. I had gone to LSR the previous 2 years and stayed at non show going hotels. It made all the difference met some guys from here too. You guys were kind of crazy there but then again you're my kind of people. I found someone's quote on Oltorf The LaQuinta Oltorf is where the real hot rodders stay. It is not plush or quiet or cl***y. The folks that stay there for the round up year after year usually but not always belong to car clubs and usually are there with rods. There have been impromtu burn out contest around back that have been known to get out of hand. My truck bed usually has a pile of beer bottles and cans in the back from people standing around drinking all night long but never any damage. If you are a lightweight or a poser there are better places to stay but if you want to talk cars with guys and girls who actually put those cars together then by all means this is the place to stay. It is safe, relatively clean and lots of fun.
Due to the "rules" as long as the wife "let's" me attend, I have to put her up in a nice hotel.... Damn rules
Last year trailers were parked across the parking lot but heard the year before it was a problem. No one I met in parking lot trailered their rides
Yep...saying there were NO posers there is quite a stretch...Oltorf always has too many trailers and too many tuff guys.
Im the guy in the blue hat in your pic...but I don't roll with them fellas anymore. Is that you in the front?
Oh, no doubt have had good times there but if I could change anything it would be the trailer situation...it was cool of Luby's to allow trailer parking across the street.
some guys and I are all coming down from amarillo, what'd yall get on rates there? I am shopping around right now for rates but as far as I know I'm the only one registered so far in my group
I will be there for sure, coming in thurs nite. I reserved 5 rooms 6 months ago. We always have a blast at this hotel. I won't be in the fleetline this year cause I sold it last week, but I got a 63 c10 burnout mo- chine. Can't wait to see all the old friends.
We called last November and were quoted $136 per night!! And it's a dump. We had to park our hot rods across the street Sat and I didn't sleep well at all. If the Mexican place next door is not fenced off again this year you might be able to park there. But it was a good party place. This year we went down the road to the Fairfield for $40/per less.
