Bed frame is 90% finished. Diamond plate floor is cut to fit. The steel to make my wheel tubs will be here in the next few days. Dropping off the plans at the sheet metal shop for the bed sides on my way to work tomorrow.

I couldn't help but notice your avatar, is that a truck you have in real life?

I love my Merc, I traded a 54 Merc wagon for it last fall, got the truck towed home and we had her running and driving in less then an hour, it has a 332 Lincoln, I plan to do a chassis swap but am thinking of keeping the engine and hooking it to a modern automatic, if not I'll drop the engine into my 27 T roadster so it looks outrageous!

Heres pics of parts im making someone asked to see. First is a grill topper tool used to straighten the 39-up top 1506 GMC grill part--Seems a lot of weirdos got off on bashing them in-

-Has anyone here ever understood a Vandal????????????????????????????????

Second is the grill bars, then upper steps and then the streetrod style Dashes--bottom one is carbon fiber. Then there is some locking door handles--I also have front tow hooks in chrome like the mid thirties-thru sixties gmc--and also peterbuilt/kenworth mack Heavy semis used -and probably still do on the traditional longnoses--the same tow hooks were used in military apps til 20 yrs ago

I forgot to post photos of my other COE... I just got it 2 months ago, but it's kinda small for me...

It was mangled when I found it, but the old farmer gave it to me (nice guy) and I had my brother blast it with a composite so as not to damage it, and I have straightened it out quite a bit in the last 2 days, but I know nothing about it, there are no punched in identifying marks, it had nothing left of the painted on logos, does anyone here recognize it? Would it be frowned upon to make a thread asking for help with it?

  12. Ok Greg
I wil go and check it out

    Thanks Bill

    no, notice my signature line:
' WTB 1956 Ford C series cabover engine truck '
I have collected nearly all the sheetmetal pieces I need to do a coe stretch, except the coe pieces...
have a lead on a local '54 but the holidays, and recent health issues with the wife, and the significant income drop in 2010 have kept me from bringing it home. I may yet! I have a spare '56 cab that I have debated grafting in the coe wheel wells to swap in place.

I hate internet short form, I may be of that generation but I have never had much to do with it, so I never even caught it at first... sorry!

You decorate like me, I have license plates and hub caps on a lot of my walls between the old signs and other "stuff" LOL

Finished the side rails for the bed framework and made the wheel tubs and welded them in place today. The tubs are 1/8 steel,so they should be able to stand up to some abuse. Hoping the sheet metal shop will have my beds sides and front panel for me this coming week.

  29. I reckon you should chrome the front bumper as well?
