Is it possible to find New old stock seat covers from anywhere? Our seat covers on our Plym are factory original and pretty cool but they have some holes on the driver's side and theyre getting bigger.

Would love to find some NOS seat covers for it instead of ripping them off and having ****py cloth seats that are probably ****py.

Our project is a low budget ride and not enough funds in the bank to re-do the entire interior right now.

Any leads, ideas, examples? Am i crazy?

    TIA

As far as the custom car world goes, going back to stock is eh?

Just wait till the funding is there to do what YOU want.

In the mean time throw a mexican blanket over it, or some form of seat cover if your that worried about it. Always had good luck with Oreilly Auto Parts "Diamond Tweed" seat cover.

    (without the headrests of course)

thanks! Yea i know its taboo to go original in a custom but we're not going to re-do the entire interior. the most we're going to do is put a new headliner in it. maybe a few years down the road we'll get the seats re-done.

The seat covers that are factory in it right now are acutally pretty neat looking. they're kind of like woven cane that (at one time was white) and black.

thanks again. there was a vintage 50's mexican blanket in the trunk with the weed chains that were in their original bags. maybe we'll just throw that on the seats for now

Might try these guys. Looks promising from their website.
I've never used them, so I'm trying to find out more.

If you could find NOS covers they possibly would be as rotten as your originals,I think there are some reproduction fabrics made if you want to keep the original look to the interior and throw a blanket over the seats untill you can do it right. Dont let anyone give you any grief on a original interior as some of the multi colored 50s stock interiors look much better then some of the custom interiors I have seen.

Hard to say on a nice custom interior without looking strret rod or something thats gonna look out of place. I agree many of the 50's interiors look better to me than the custom stuff.

If it was a survivor / traditional build I'd say remove the seat cover, carefully seperate out the panel thats damaged, use that as a template and get the new panel sewn in.

Hi, I was like you in thinking nos seat covers was a good interim maybe permanent short cut. There are atleast 25 sets on eBay right now. I bought some. They lasted only 6 months and I had to pay someone to install them. Take your time and have reupholstered. These old cars are not that expensive to have done. For me it wasn't the money as much as the let down of the nos covers coming apart so soon. And our project is low budget too FYI. In the long run it will be cheaper better and more fufilling to do it right the first time. Good luck. Mike
