Well I had another good build week since I've been home. (currently layed off). I goit the radiator mounted w/ electric fan, shroud, trans cooler and overflow tank installed sunday/ monday. I then got my new rear door wood back from a local hot rodder/ woodworker, and it all fit pretty nicely. I got that in mon/ tues. I then was able to fit the rear doors up and get them adjusted and latched. The inner structure on my rear doors was pretty rough in the latch areas so I had to add some supports/ modify a bit from original. I added a spring to help keep the latch in a closed position to help avoid unexpect door opening. I also had to trim about 3/16 off the door bottoms to fit the "new" opening. I was missing the original rear door handle ***y so I took some old Ford and Willys s**** handles I had and made what looks to be a fairly original looking handle ***y. I then had to do some tweaking/ bending around on the doors to get the contours to the opening better. These are aluminum doors so I really have to take care with them. I did all that tues/ wed. I then fit up the Prefect windshield for fit and to make sure all parts were there etc. I also got the E-brake ***y installed along with the cable support. I also got the fuel tank all welded up and tested etc. I built it out of 16 g brushed stainless. It turned out to be 9 gallons. I got the sender, fill tube, supply line and vent all fitting just as I hoped. The fill cap is just above the rear floor, not flush, but just high enough to readily gain access to it. I got a lot of other small things done as well. I just have to drill a few more holes and trial fit a few more parts then this thing will be ready to COMPLETELY blow apart and start paint/body plumbing, etc. The engine and trans should really only need fresh gaskets and tune up parts/ filters etc, and then should be ready to fire. Still shooting for the HAMB drags, but money is running low and I'm getting into some work that is going to start costing, so I may have to put it on the back burner until I get back to work, and that will hopefully be by or before April. Enjoy the pics and update and let me know what you guys think?? Later, Rusty.
