This pic brings a story to mind. Approx. 25 years ago, when I was a far younger man, I was heading up to the local bar with a buddy of mine. He had had considerably more to drink than I had, we were jack***ing around, and he made a wager that he would leave the bar with some snapper before I did. The prize was to be a box of beer. When we got up there, the place wasnt very busy, but undaunted by this, he headed off in full hunting mode. I had barely finished my second beer, when he returned, quarry in hand. Now this was when we were in our twenties, and said quarry appeared to be in her mid-fifties, and looked like she had been ridden hard and put away wet more than a few times, but my friend seemed to be blissfully unaware of this, and who am I to judge, so off he went.
The next morning, I turned up at his place, case of beer in hand. He refused to accept his hard-earned prize, said something about "not closing the deal' but I wasnt buying it, and dutifully turned over the box of beer, despite his protestations. Oh yea, I guess I should get to the point.
Her pants looked JUST LIKE the seats in this car. No judgement here, just relating the events as they happened...

Not a great pick but I'm basically building the rest of the car to match the interior that was done by the guy that started the car. He's an upolstery guy in Vancouver and this was apparently his first full interior. It's about 15 years old.

Purchased this '57 chevy new on Dec.6,1956
Cusomized it over the next few years.
The interior was done in 1962 period correct
for the time and has stood the test of time.
A real tribute for Ray Kulakowsky of Michigan.

First let me say that there are a lot of extremely cool interior pics in this thread. I will also say that I admit to being an interior snob and an engine compartment snob. I'd show mine, but the car isn't half done yet.

I've seen a lot of nice cars, but there are quite a few that look like the owner ran out of money when he got around to the interior. It really does take away from the rest of the car. A good plan on where you are going with the car is always a good idea. I'm not pointing any fingers at anyone on this board because other than pictures posted, I haven't seen that many (unless you've been to Tampa in October).

Do I have a plan for the Studie? Yep, pretty close to stock with some aftermarket goodies tossed in. For the period of the car, and the idea behind the car, it'll be right.

I see a few vinyl steering column covers ****tered in the pix. Were these late 1950s/early 1960s style? could you order them at the time or were they all custom s***ched? street cars or show only?
