Just a quick question if I can. I was told before in conversation that I could replace my 2 windshield in my 49 Cadillac Sedanette with a 1 piece from another GM model of the same year. Does anyone out there know for sure. 49-50 Olds looks close 49-50 Buick not so close. It'll be chopped so I guess the concern is in the lower portion of the gl***.
    Whats the Deal?

I have a 49 Buick Sedanette and have measured the Olds one piece WS. By my calculation, they are not close. They are easily transfered to a Chevy, but Cad/Buicks are larger and have different curvature. I have been unable to find a one piece that will fit, but am also open to suggestions

splits look way better on a 49 cad. every time you change a perfect design, you lose some something.

Make a curvature template and go to the junk yard.

If I remember right the 50 Olds will fit as long as it's the big 98 and not an 88. I thought the gl*** interchanged also with some later Caddy sedans and Buicks. I have the info at my shop, I'll try to find it when I get to work tomorrow. We did the reserch but ended up using a 2 piece in Caddy-O.
You about to get that good looking Caddy on the road?

Hey Thanks Metalman. I recall hearing that same info in a conversation before but I just wanted to verify it before I went out and bought a new windshield. Car still has a way to go but I'm happy to say it's looking like a car again rather than a bunch of parts.

    Thanks for the info.
