hey all, so I know this is a dumb question but my car has been sitting around for almost a year now due to some remodeling in my home. Im getting ready to start work on it again.
right now its running like $hit.
-50 deluxe, has a 216 engine, the timing is off and keeps backfiring. Ive turned the distributor a little and got it to sort of stay ok but backfires (like I said before) and floods quick. I dont have a timing light and wouldnt eve know where to look, didnt see any marks on the pulley. Also what do you guys recommend for tune-up besides the plugs/wires?
    Thanx guys!

Timing mark should be seen thru the window on the bellhousing right above the starter if memory serves correct.

If he gas is a year old that is in it, you need to drain that out and rebuild the carb. gas is only good for about 3 months. unless you put sta-bil or something like it in it.

well there was only a little bit of gas in the tank, last time i used it i put about a gallon just to check the brakes. Today I put another gallon. Dam didnt know gas had such a short shelf life.
On the timing mark, ill look for it
