Introduction for the 2nd time I'll try to get this done!!

  1. Not that anyone ill read it! But I'm quite sure that people who know me will probably miss it! I'm sure there ought to be a few out there that might remember this old cogger in Missouri and Florida. I hope?
Name is Joe Geisler and I taught school for many years and also worked in industry as an engineer and management trainee. I acquired my first hot rod (first car actually) in 1958. It was going to be an old Jalopy that was sitting at a garage where they had welded in a roll bar, channeled the sedan body about 2 inches over the frame, welded in flathead motor mounts, installed a short flathead rear and a '32 or 33 front axle ***y with drum hyd brakes and a set of pedals from ? (off some Ford) that would hook up to a flat motor. there were no fenders nor anything else. There was money owed on that work and I had to wait until they had tried to contact the owner. It had been sitting back behind that shop for more than a year. The young man had been drafted into the Army and was overseas. His folks told Mr Coach to sell it to pay the bill. I traded my bicycle, soap box downhill racer and $12.47 cents (I believe it was). Coach's Diamond Garage near my Jr. High. Back then they were available as the local race tracks had gone to late models here in Springfield, Mo. Took about 5 months to have it running and I had bought my 2nd car a 1946 Ford fourdoor sedan which gave up a lot of its parts and engine and trans. That was a long time ago and I still have many of those old cars setting in my shop today. Drag raced from 14 yrs old on as I'm quite sure all of you did too from back in the day. I like what you did about Tom Cobb here on HAMB and THAT was what made me fill out the application! No I'm not important like him but if you go back and check you will find that I did build Hot Rods with several of my high school students when they were fround upon in the 60's and 70's and I caught a lot of flack from parents and administrators as I was not setting a good example. I even showed some of those cars in Darrel Starbird's auto shows. I also drove Chevelles and Corvettes to school. Cool with the kids but NOT the stiff shirts. It took years for them to be looked at in a little different light. Now I'm too old but still I own about 35 old Fords and Chevrolets. And Autoworld Corporation here in S. W. Missouri and hope to get most of them together. I've also had 4 heart attacks. Gotta keep movin! Thanks for your time.
