Don't get upset.....but i'm just curious why you mixed two different styles? The top is a diamond/pleat style and the bottom is a typicle pleated, '56 T-bird style. The quality looks great, and the colors. Don't think I have seen this done before.
51 Mercules has a diamond style upolstry in his surviver Merc, but the bottom is done the same as the top. Just asking...

Me too, I'd like to read the story on horse ****...never heard it but appears it is some kind of myth of someone trying to piss another guy and then generalized...

you youngins don't get all het up over the horse**** myth...or any other myths either. Just an old scare-tactic from the 40s/50s/60s to keep the upholstery work in the hands of the locals. I took my 55 BA 2dr post down to TJ back in 61 to get it down in R&P (bronze and cream) and the complete job including headliner, f&r seats, door panels, kick panels rear side panels was under $200. Local boat shop (only place in town that did 'custom' work) had quoted me nearly $450. Gave me a chance to have some fun in TJ...visit some old family friends in SD, and drive back to eWA in some serious style. Never smelled anything untoward, and the shop that did the work couldn't have been more professional and thorough.

Old myth as others said. there was a movie called " losing it" Tom Cruise and others in an old movie about a bunch of high school kids that plan an adventure to Mexico to "lose it", well as long as we're down there lets have the "57 chevy reapolsterd. he brought his little brother along to stay with the car so they didn't use horse **** in the pleats!! the rest of the movie is crazy!! a lot of movie quotes here on the HAMB I thought every one saw this because its full of cool old cars!!! RENT it!!!!!

    your SEATS LOOK GREAT!!!!!

are those sewn pleats or actual tuck-n-roll? pleats look a little flat to be stuffed with horse ****.

nice seat... especially when I look out my window here at work and see all the cotton stuffing coming out of a big rip in the seat in my Dodge

I plan on putting them in early next month. I need a new driverside window. Hombries Ruin kicked it out. Something arked under the dash, and we though the car was going to go up in flames. Since the door handles where off he kicked the window out to escape. Once the window comes in the mail in I will install it along, with the carpet and the rest of the interior. I will send pictures when its all put together.

slmLrd this is true,it was funny but with that old wiring and the small flash of fire, then realizing that you have no door handles as well as window cranks in a car that could go up in flames, kicking the window in was the only option

Im not worried about the wireing anymore, you guys burned up the water temp gauge sending wire and i dont think it will fight with the fuse panel again. Ya it was some funny ****, i wish my head would have been turned so i could have seen it. I dont think that bannana got swallowed, i think it got stuffed somewhere never to be seen again. I lost track of it after it had been washed 25 times. Im never going to wash my hand again, or maybe ill wash it 25 times.

I'm picking up my seats Friday! I don't think I'll have time to look for the bannana, But you never know. That would make a great excuse for being late to work. I'll post up some picks once I get the seats to my house.

Its actually a 54 Cadillac pattern. I want my Oldsmobile to be a period correct 50s MILD CUSTOM. I switched up the styles to suit my own preference. I want to give the car a unique look. The pattern matches the colors of the car Black and Baby Blue.

FINALLY!!!!! An answer about the seats.....WITHOUT all the horse**** drama! Thanks Dave.
I was curious.cause the pattern looked familiar, but I didn't know if it was modeled after a stock pattern or something you came up with.

I think it looks better then the original pattern. The stock Oldsmobile patter was pretty plain. I dressed it up with the Cadillac style. Gives it a cl***y look with a custom kick.

Since I haven't been on here as much, I just saw this post. The seats look great. Hopefully I will have all the other stuff done on my car and get my interior completed by this time next year, and looking as good as yours. I did get quite a laugh out of the window kicking story. It was pretty funny watching his foot kick the window out and the two of you come rushing out of a car that just appeared to be sitting on there doing nothing. Damn I wish I had recorded that moment. Anyway I hope the floors don't get rusty from this little bit of rain since you don't have a window.

As for the movie line, don't give Hombres Ruin too much of a hard time he's not a real American, he's from Australia. Sometimes he just doesn't get it. What he does get is called an immigrant.

Here are the pics of my seats. I'm completely satisfied with the work they did at champions. I had zero bad experiences in the two times I went to mexico last week, even in the "bad" parts of town. Dave and I are both veterans living off the GI bill and this was a great way for us to have some quality work done for a great price. I could not afford to have the work done in the states and I'm stoked to have my bench seat back in the shoebox. I found it as a frame and the guys at champions made me a new seat, springs and all.

thanks hombres and deville for taking me down to get some TJ tuck-n-roll and showing me a good time.

still looking for my banana James!!!

In my not so humble opinion anyone can spell their name anyway they want too, so much for being wrong.

BTW unique spelling appears to be ethnically correct in today's society <grin & wink>
