Good ? I wanna know too! I have used some energy suspension leafspring bushings as replacement for similiar mounts though. Actually they are still going ( lasting alot longer) I will look and see if I can find the model of leaf spring bushing I used maybe it will help. I belieive it was a front spring bushing for a chevy 4x4 truck mid seventies.
Looks like a 4-bar bushing http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Rod-End-Bushing-Kit-for-1-2-Inch-Bolt,1583.html
The bushing is easy. Pretty sure Frantic Fred has them. What I want to know is who mounted a SBC upside down. More pics!
I buy mine from Horton in Milton, and I think he gets then from Pete and Jakes. They are urethane 4 link bushings, as has been pointed out already. The work really well for motor mounts and 4 links, but I will give you a word of warning. You absolutely can not "dummy up" mounts to tack them together with those bushings in place, then remove the engine and bushings to finish up welding. Those damn urethane bushings melt if you even breathe on them. They stand up fine to general engine heat, but they sure don't like heat from even short tack welds. After ruining enough of them and then having to re-order and wait, I finally turned up a bunch of them on the lathe from cold rolled steel. Now if I am positioning a suspension or a set of motor mounts, I use the steel units I made, tack everything in place, then dis***emble and do the finish welding. The urethane bushings seem to last forever then.
If you have any measurements id try this guy. http://www.suspension.com/ He has the only place that i could find that had measurements to order buy. Go to universal applications to look for measurements or give him a call he is a great guy to work with.
JW rod garage makes a nice one that used MII tubular control arm bushings... good price if i remember right.
I've used front A arm bushings that are about the same size. Sorry you'll have to figure out on your own what they are.....I got them at an auction and have no clue what they fit. Look at some early 50's cars. Clark
Question; How do the 4 bar style bushings compare to traditional OEM type mounts? It seems as though they're too light for the application, and the torque of the engine will tear these up in no time as they seem to darn near solid mount the engine.
Go to a auto add ons kinda place and they usually have a box o' misc. suspension bushings that'll fit the bill. Done it several times and it worked out great and it's cheap too!
The mount it's self looks pretty close to this one http://www.welderseries.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=161 Which uses this bushing x 4 http://www.welderseries.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=88 You still will need to measure the ID, OD and width of the bushing halves before you can go further though.
Yes, I know, typed it wrong, then checked it and it came back on Google wrong as well, knew better than that
lol, I was thinking the same thing! It's a Pete & Jakes #1203, Lucky 7 #L7-1019. You'll need 4. https://www.welderseries.com/blog/online-store/urethane-bushing-half/
