Some of you read the thread i started a few weeks back on the 63 Impala i bought off a fellow HAMBer, and the story behind it me searching for it..

Well, last night the original 409 fired back to life after close to 20 years.....( i think..has it been that long Joe???)
I updated the oil pump and regasketed it along with obviously cleaning and painted etc....and here it is.

Still needs some fine tuning, and i have a few small carb issues to address yet, but it sounds REAL strong!!

These video's are from my cell phone, so they are not that great but the get the point across.
Hillbilly4008 asked me to put up vids if i could...i bought the car off him.
    So, Joe, hopefully these work..

Tony, that engine was pulled in 1990. So i'd say almost 21 years... sat long enough to drink some alcohol;)

    good stuff

Thats a good one! haha..well, she's up and running.
You guys did good with storing it however you did. I've seen a number of stored motors end up being junk just because of poor planning or lack of care.
    Thanks!

It's gonna be a little while until i get to the car itself, but i'll make sure to keep you up to date.

    Thanks Greg.
I was very impressed, and surprised at how responsive it actually was with the original 4jet rochester. It's a nice tight motor for sure :)

Tony, did you fire that up on the engine stand?? I would be worried about the torque tipping it over...

Cool to see you getting it running thou...

Naa, its a start stand, just home made. The rear mount is part of a heavy duty engine stand. It's had a few motors on it that are double the hp of this thing..no joke.
