The Boogie Van leaves for Detroit Autorama this thursday

So after 30,000 miles on the road since June 6th I didnt really feel the little corvair van had anything left to do except be my daily driver in Houston T.X.

Then one day OGNC on here said"Hey I heard Gambino is driving the Orange car to Detroit with no side windows, and no trans tunnle"......Well I thought if he can do that from Cali why shouldnt I drive the van up from Texas. So needless to say after a ton of stories about how Norwell said Detroit is important for us to be at as a artist the wife finally said ok.

Well after getting ahold of the powers that be the van got accepted into the ba*****t in Detroit as well as us having a booth in the artist gallery thanks to alot of great help from Roadstar and his patience with all my questions.

Here is how this is going to go down I am leaving Houston thursday for the Dallas Autorama, and showing with BigKen and the Boys then Sunday night after they let us out I am on the road to Detroit. I have move in wednesday at noon so that should give me time to just take it easy, and hopefully drive in warmer daytime weather......oh yea did I mention I dont have a heater lol.

I do want to thank Danny over at Bruce's Rod Shop,Randy at Painthouse, and David Coker at Newstalgia wheel for helping us out with some gas money to start the trip to Detroit after a computer crash almost put my trip in jeopardy.

Hope to see everyone in Detroit stop by and say hi if you get a chance.

 

It will be cool to see both you and your wife in the Motor City at the end of the month. Drive safe!

Also, if you and your wife want a place to crash on Sunday night before heading out I'll have room at that point as most of my houseguests are leaving on Sunday.

Very cool. I used to have a hot-rodded chopped VW Bug that the heat extractors had been removed from. I got the bright idea to use a propane hunting heater in the car. Probably not too smart but it was toasty in there and had a mellow orange glow going down the road.

Thanks everyone for the kind words sorry for the late reply I have been shooting(texas for taking pictures) my **** off raising money for the trip.

I am leaving thursday am for Dallas so I have been busy getting the van ready, and our booth for Detroit. I will leave sunday night after the show to head in the general direction of nashville, but if I just knock a couple hundred miles off the trip the first night I will be golden.
Monday I want to make it to some friends house just north of Nashville to spend the night.
Tuesday I want to go as far as Dayton Ohio, and spend the night with friends there, and thaw out a bit lol
Wednesday hopefully I have a good dry day to roll into Detroit by 12 for check in and booth setup.

When I get to Detroit I am pretty much stuck till the van comes back out sunday so I ma up for anything as far as food and whatnot.....or if anyone goes out in large groups wandering around town lol
